Building HPs and Getting Problems -1 reply

I decided to try and tackle the job of building an HP for the reinvisioned Cylon Basestar and Raider. After making a plugin to allow them in game, I find that when in either of these two ships, I cannot view the ship from outside, and enemies will generally not appear in QB when I use either ship. I'm wondering what I have missed. The weapons will not dumb fire, and the ship's icon/wireframe in game is set as that of a Galaxy-class vessel.

bring down the consol in testmode, and see what the errors are in your hardpoint. That should fine tune ur ship and make it ingamve playable

Better to post a screenshot of your console here. It might be a declaration error (those files that tell BC where to load each ship)

It is a decleration error, Also Get into the habit, that every time you update the HP (of existing ingame ships) DELETE the PYC files, if you dont it can cause problems, when you try to view it ingame. and for your dumb fire of the weapons, you have to tell each weapon to be dumb-fire, each pulse weapon, each torpedo, each phaser (you get the idea)

Not needed. The .pyc is overwritten every time you overwrite the .py Not so in the pointer files (scripts\custom\ships, scripts\ships). There it's better to delete the .pyc after creating a new .py. Not needed, but better to be sure.

With the basestar: Attribute error: PreLoadAssets \Scripts\Quickbattle\QuickBattle.py line 4873, in StartSimulationAction pModule.PreLoadModel () AttributeError: PreLoadModel

With the Raider I encounter some sort of ship stats error. If someone out there could direct me to a good tutorial or otherwise point me to some working HPs, I would be most appreciative.

its More than , just a good working HP, there is the Nif (does name match Hp) , then Plugin does the script inside the Py match the nif , Does the HP call for the right torpedo texture , is the Projectile Py present (if used) See many things. Start looking at any PY file in your scripts\ships\hardpoints folder. there are Many good ships to look at. look through the PYs of other ships , you have installed. but remember it is the little things that can cause a script Not to work (a missing : ' or even a space in the wrong area)

if you have MS-office try open the files in the VB editor under tools>Macros it dose use pyhton syntax but is will highlight the formating e.g. strings, and logic statements. it just makes it easeiser to find a formatting error.
