Ok i have got mpe and for the most part it works great most fed ships i can alter really good but i have tried a few times to alter the hardpoints for BSG ships and it just wont happen for me i tried adding torp tubes and it let me but not long after i exit it comes up with an error and then the changes are gone???? Also i have looked but can't find a way to alter the scripts for pulses (adding and taking smoke trails also changing the strength) stuff like that but cant find a way is it possible to do it with mpe?? Cheers

You can't alter pulse weapon characteristics from mpe. To do this, you need to go into Bridge Commander/scripts/Tactical/Projectiles, then double-click the .py file you want and open it in wordpad. (If there is no .py file, and only a .pyc, there's not much you can do except copy an existing .py and rename it something else - but getting the weapon to use the right texture and look the way you want can be troublesome since .pyc files are difficult to read. Expect a lot of trial and error if this is the case.) You can change the strength and several other important characteristics, like guidance lifetime (the amount of time the projectile/torpedo tracks it's target), and Max Angular Accel (which determines how quickly the projectile can turn). Since you want a pulse weapon, these values should be close to zero unless you want to simulate "leading the target". Setting these values higher essentially gives you a torpedo. It all depends on what you want. Launch speed is another important characteristic, especially for a pulse weapon. If this rating is set too low, you won't be able to hit even a dreadnought unless you're right next to it. If you want a shot that is really hard for most ships to avoid, set the rating at 80. Anything higher would be excessive. I can't help you with your BSG problem. I'm not sure what's going on there. Anyway, I hope this was helpful.

I am not sure at all about smoke trails, it has been such a-while since , I messed with BSG ships If I were to venture a guess I'd say they are part of the actual texture of the missle.
