Daviex2259yea i tryed it and it said it failed. i have v4.2 so i think my mod stuck now unless theres some other way to convert them Dave

Yes there is another way to convert them: In MAX, export the mesh you are working on to .3ds format (if you don;t have the plugin to do do this, it shouldn;t be to hard to find on the net). Close down MAX, and the open up MILKSHAPE. Import the .3ds file into MILKSHAPE - and then you can use that programe to export it to the .nif format used by BC. Well, that's what I do anyway. I hear wicked rumours that there is a .nif exporter/importer that works with newer versions of MAX, but all the ones I have downloaded in the past (quite legally thank you) haven't worked with my version (MAX 5.0). However, you should note that MILKSHAPE does have an upper limit on the poly size of a mesh, and it will fail to open any mesh that's too "big." Poly-Chop is a good plugin for MAX to get round this problem. Hope that helps

I'm just a player who recently started downloading mods. It cool. But Defiants I download aren't powerfull enough in the phaser cannons. She should rip through attack fighters. How don I increase the damage potential and what's the first tool I need?

for that you can just use notepad, just go to: Bridge commander/scripts/tactical/projectiles- and open the pulse phaser file, it should be called "defiantpulse" or something like that, next scroll down until you see this line: def GetDamage(): return 200.0 just raise the number until it is how you want it.

iF you increase the Radius of the damage it looks better cause the defiant's pulses does massive explosions and stuff.

I don't know if this question was answered before but I found nothing.

How can I edit already compiled *.pyc files? I wanted to change the excalibur a bit.

Thanks in advance.

Best option I can suggest is to download KM 1.0 and get the .py file from the src directory in the archive.

The MPE can open compiled as well as uncompiled files. If it's the hp you want to edit that is. Just start typing the name and as you write autocomplete should start to show you a list of both types that match your input.
