I was wondering if their was a way to make a ship more powerful. Does anybody know what you need to edit in the hardpoints in order to make the phasers and torpedoes do more damge as well as make them recharge more quickly.

Recharge rate makes them recharge more quickly and damage makes them hit harder. Use maxcharge as well. If you download MPE and see what the systems are called in that, it may be easier to understand. May...

Forgive the couriousity, But why do you want to modify the ships ?

If its to learn BC modding, d/l the sdk, this contains the MPE ( Model Property Editor ) and read the Stickied topics in the fourms.

If its bcus your getting your ass kicked by stock ships, learn to fly better!

i use joy2key and fight like a pro on this game. i just got it last week and find this a very interesting game. i've modded the hardpoint of the sovereignSX (3 nacelle). nothing is more fun that taking on a fleet in this ship. there were two individual defiant class vessels. paccia and ironheart. they are now the fastest ships in the game :P

creating new torpedos is very easy. even put new sound fx on them. this is great when you put a 'transphasic' torp on a future ship or on voyager. damage of 9999999. its a borg killer :P.

on a side note. you really have to mod the 'pre enterprise' UEA, klingon, and romulan ships. ALL of them are far too powerful for the time period. i'm getting to it but i need to lower their shield/hull/weapons stats. i'm sure i could beat a galaxy class with almost all (stock) of them.

Had anyone come up with a basic chart to balance the ships against? I was thinking using the Sov and Gal as the tops ships and then working the other mods I have d/l from there. Thus trying to create a pecking order. You know what I mean?
