I want to shorten the duration of phaser blasts for certain ships, a couple of questions... 1/ How exactly is it done? 2/ If I give the ship a shorter blast, yet leave max damage the same, will this in effect make the phaser more efficient as it packs the entire max damage into a 1 second burst rather than spreading it out and risking causing less damage if the other ship moves out of it's firing arc? Does that make sense? Thanks in advance.

hmmmm if i had to do anything i would compare the CG Sov Phasers to a Normal long phaser and see. I think its the damage output that controls how long it fires. Either that or its the Charge i don't remember. If its like a 29 max charge, and you put in a 1 recharge, then it will take 29 seconds to recharge if i remember right. I belive if its a small charge, like 2, and a recharge of 1, i belive you can get your desired effect.

I looked at the Victory (has the shortest and most powerfull phasers blast) to the Galaxy and the Excaliburs...

I discovered where the Galaxy has a setnormaldischarge of 1 The Victory has a setnormaldischarge of 200

Galaxy has a setmaxdamage of 1000 Victory has a set maxdamage of 2400

I believe your anser lies here...If that dosen't work I'd try looking at the power draw persec for phasers. Although I believe this has more to do with power comsuption from the core than the actual effectiveness of the intensity. That of course is not found under specific phaser such as DORSALPHASER1 but under the Phaser hard point or Phaser Control for the VIctory
