So, does the number have any effect on the fireing option?

I did some experimentation with this and found that Burst-4 sent the torps out so that the spread out in a line. Although I have no idea if that was just the "Burst" command part of the chain, or the number after it!

If Burst is that important part of the command, and the number after it has no impact, do you know if there are any other options?

If the number does have an impact, what sort of effects can you generate?

Nothing has an impact except this...

(=>0<=;Single;=>12<=;Dual;=>3<=;Quad)

Those set the firing groups. The other stuff is just for the button you see ingame.

Cheers for the help on this - I get it now (slow sometimes, but not dimm).

The name "Burst-8" and "Burst-16" are just that - names. They have no impact on the fireing chains at all. After playing around with this I am 99% sure on that (hey, I could be wrong!)

Thanks StarBright for getting me to the light at the end of the tunnel on this - and yes I have checked my messages and replied back.

By burst-x it just means a burst of x torpedoes. single = burst-1, dual = burst-2 etc. They will all come out in a line if your torpedo tubes are set up in a certain way. If you have two tubes and fire burst-2, you'll get two at once. Fire burst-4 and you'll get two pairs following one another. It is notable that the number of torpedoes you can load in your tubes (eg you may have set both tubes to load two torpedoes) sets the highest burst number you can readilly achieve (in this case, burst-4 - 2 tubes x two torpedoes). The name burst comes from trek lore where one of the Federation's greatest achievements was 'triple-burst' torpedo tubes that allowed multiple torpedoes to be loaded ready for firing at once in any one tube.

Hummmmmmmmmmm Ok, I have two forward facing torpedo tubes, each with two torps ready to fire. I also have to aft tubes, with 1 torp in each. I set up the following chain: 0;Single;1;Burst-4;2;Burst-2

All I am getting is dual fireing torps, in the burst modes. Do you need to have the tubes set up in a certain way, or do anthing to the reload delay?

if you want to fire 4 in the front, you have to have 4 torp tubes, not just 2 with 2 ready.

I've done it with a single tube and three ready, Decoy's Vorcha has that feature...hmmm:uhm: I'm beating that you have to set the immediate delay to 0.000 because thats the only way I could think of it not working the way you have it set up.:D
