I see no reason why it should in fact theres no reason why it should. Just show ur parents what its like when you are playing or surfing the net. A good net speed really does make a HUGE difference i dunno where you are from but broadband is quite cheap now i live in the UK and a standard phone line is 15 pounds a month- rental that is. If you use the net it is 1 penny a minute. Broadband is 10 pounds more yet your internet is permanantly connected and you pay no charges except the extra 10 pounds which is fantastic value oh and broadband is 512k a second whereas normal modems are 56k! If you are american 1 pound is 1.5 dollars by the way. Im sure broadband in US is probably around the same price if not cheaper. Hope that helps..

the only thing that might make your game lag a little when loading is how many skins you have. THATS JUST A MAYBE! I DONT KNOW SO DONT COMPLAIN TO ME IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS! k? :deal:

I've showed them what happens in game and my dad said graphics, this last time I had all the settings in game to the lowest, he also said it might because a lot of people are on MSN at the time so it freaks the connection out, I seriously doubt this too.

by the time I convince them I'll probabbly be in college where the connections are good

btw I'm in America and cables usually like 40 dollars

:D my adsl is at the unnormal speed 2.4mb per second (extra fast dunno why, it said 512k per sec) get adsl thats pretty fast and cheap and type "cg_drawfps 1" in console then you will see fps and determine if its graphics that lags.

and if its msn try turning it off (if its possible)

well, I can close the window but I can't turn off MSN without disconnecting

I'll try the FPS see if that's what's holding me back, I think I have a crappy Video Card, but when I bought the PC it said it had an NVIDIA DEForce4 MX420 graphics card with TV-Out

Edit> I just took screen of me lagging and I had 60 fps (good right?) and I was lagging as usual, so this proves it is not graphics?

yeah 60 fps is good if u stay around there 4-70 ur card is enuagh (but my card is a real killer card and goes for 90 in best graphics settings on all) its almost 100% its the connection that lags. type cg_lagometer 1 2 see that if u cant figure out how 2 read it post a screeny here on this thread (i actually dunno what the over yellow thingie is good for but higher meters more lag).
