Ok did this happen the first time you installed it??

Or did you try to install it and it didn't work for whatever reason and than it started doing that?? Cuz if the install process was like half way through WIN could have already made a registry entry.

which means that everytime you try to install the game, the game detects the entry and thinks you already have it installed, so it tries to uninstall it which doesn't work because its not on there. i've had that error with some sony software...

what you need to do is find that entry and delete it. go to start > run and type in 'regedit' without the ''. now search for jedi knight 2 or something ike that. delete everything it finds that is related to jk2!

if that doesn't work you could go into DOS and restore the registry from auto backups windows does everytime the registry is changed! the command is : scanreg /restore

but i'm not sure on that comman, lemme check and i'll come back later if its wrong!

really hope this helps!

take care!
