moved to problems/errors/help forum all textures must be in 2x dimension, e.g. 8x1024,512x512,8x4,16x64 but e.g. 6x8 is impossible, they will show up in GTK Radient, but not in JO 1024/512/256/128/64/32/16/8/4/2 x 2/4/8/16/32/64/128/256/512/1024 are the allowed sizes ;)

Yeah, I know WhiteShark has answered, but the thread could look something like this: ________________________________________________________________________ Title: Texture Sizes - Why Your Textures May Not Show

If you get into JK2 or JK3 and see that a texture (Image) is not showing, it may be because of one of the following reasons:

1) It is not an available dimension. 2) It is in the wrong directory, JK cannot find the image. 3) Another file is corrupting the image.

1 - How To Correct

The size of each texture can only be one of these sizes:

2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024

X

2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024

So it's oneofthosenumbers X oneofthosenumbers.

2 - How To Correct

Custom Textures must be in Gamedata/base/textures/Texturesetnamehere/Texturename.jpg While your map is in Gamedata/base/maps/mapname.bsp

You must place them both together into a zip file and name it yourmapname.pk3 Your textures will then load where ever you put them in your map. Make sure the textures are made before you finish the map so that you can add them into your map! When you want to test your map, you compile it as said above and leave the PK3 in your base folder. Your textures should definatly work after this.

NOTE: Textures with the wrong sizes will show as a black and white tiled image. Invisible images are either invisible or are being replaced with an invisible image. The other alternative is if the image is being overwritten.

3 - Corruption Correction

Before testing a map or skin, it's best you take all other files out of base incase you blame the author or yourself for having texture errors in the file you are about to use.

If you have anything to say or don't understand something, feel free to reply and someone will answer ASAP. ________________________________________________________________________

Thats an idea. What do you think? Is it correct? I'm sure theres something incorrect there.
