In my opinion the easiest program to use is Winzip.

Others are gonna disagree and suggest using pakscape, or maybe Winrar

Instructions on how to use winzip for making skins can be found in the attachment, it will also explain how to make skins, maybe you don't want this but you WILL need to read references towards re-packing your files back into pk3 assuming you want to that is. Hope this is some kinda help.

pk3 files are zip files, so simply rename the extension to zip and you can open it with a zip program!

i think that you don't need to rename extension to zip just rightclick on .pk3 file select open with an select winzip, but that's all the same thing.

Thats only if you have winzip my trial ran out so i just decided to open it as a folder meaning i had to rename it to .zip to edit it.

Unless i use packscape which i don't really think does verry much cept rename it to .zip and .pk3 automaticly and can veiw pk3's.

I always use Total Commander, it has an internal Zip, Rar, Ace, ARJ and UC2 (un)packer. And you can use it for free, and it is more user friendly then Windows explorer.

You can get it from www.ghisler.com
