Crazy Coding SP Guy...
27th December 2002
call me a moron to some degree, but I have downloaded all these different mods and patches, and models, and have been working on a base package (customized from all the stuff i've gotten) so that i might learn the code well enough to start making my own mod. However, on the just pure fun aspect it is a blast, to wail away dark side level 12 with force_mod, or use other jedimod derivatives to saber it up. Hey...bots are easy, and with these mods the saber duels last longer, and are more precise. *schmile*
Within my customization efforts, i have looked into all the cvars and whatnot to completely customize how i want my server set up to go, for my bot matches as well as when my roomies all get together on the lan to wail on eachother. In this project, i have come across many things like "drop kick" or "mod_scalekicks" etc, and reference to all this "kick" stuff. And aside from my confusion at first to this concept called "nerfing" (which i recognized as having something to do with damage) I was still at a loss as to this ability to "kick" in the game. I knew that sometimes when was jumping around like a jackrabbit i would accidently do a wall kick flip off my opponent if the angle was right...but this in no way seemed to be something that could be called a "drop kick"...*chuckle*...
So anyway, is all this 'kick' damage info in these mods refering to doing a wall-kick-flip off one's opponent, or is there some other kicking built in like the mod_boxing 'punch' emote?
thanks, and pardon my confusion.

There are three types of kicking. One is as you said, the wallkick. Two is kicking someone from your game. Three is a kick, a type of attack. which 1.3 and 1.4 patches did something horible to it and it's now really hard to do. But in 1.2 all you did is run towards someone and press jump when you're right next to them. It's like a wall kick only it knocks the enemy down.
