Okay, I'm not a noob to all this, I have set up several JK2 servers successfully now...but this...this baffles me.

After opening up the appropriate ports in the Router, I start the server. Works great. In JK2, I can add the Favorite and connect to the server. BUT IT DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE INTERNET LIST!!!

The server has been up for 2 days now, and it does not show up on the JK2 list at all! I'm running the server through standard port 28070, and ports 24500-28500 are all open on the router. I even enabled DMZ to turn off firewalling capabilities to see what would happen. The server is there, but the Internet list does not see it.

What's the deal?

Help, please!

No, I AM running an internet game. Everyone in the world can connect to it. They just need to add it to Favorites because it does not show on the Master List.

See for yourself:

67.38.7.84:28075

It can be added to Favorites and connected to, but it does not show on the Internet list.

Help!

There are three Sources:

Local: Cannot be seen.

Favorites: If I add the Favorite, it can be seen and it can be joined and you can play on it.

Internet: Cannot be seen on the Master List.

Therefore, it is properly set up as an Internet server, because YOU, can now connect to it with a Favorite. But you will not find it on the "Internet" list.

The problem is that anyone can connect to it if they know the IP and make a Favorite, but nobody browsing servers will ever see it. So no new visitors are coming in.

See for yourself. Try to find it on the list. You can't. But add it as a Favorite and you can connect.

Man that's kind of weird....maybe it's something simple that was overlooked. Check the setup and the player configuration. I don't understand. I'd like to know if and when ou figure this out, what you had to do to fix it.

Okay, I think I figured out how to make it work.

It appears that the LucasArts master list server was dropping my heartbeat packets, simply because it is flooded with too many packets along familiar ports.

The solution I found was to pick a far more obscure port for launching my server (like 26000 or 27000), and then after launching it, I had the server console manually send 3 or 4 heartbeats.

One I did that, it worked fine.

To send a heartbeat, you just type "heartbeat" in the server console.

Good luck!
