USS_EndeavourHow do you make the textures for EF2 GDK smaller? The doors are an example as they are far too big when you load them up from the textures menu. This is also the case with things like lcars being too big as well. Can you reduce the size of these textures? If so how? I have seen other maps that have normal sized doors and lcars, but I just can't get it to work. Thanks. :bows:
Normally you can press the Fit button for a texture to auto fit a brush. Other wise you may need to adjust the texture with the Hortiz. and Verticle position.
In Uber you'll find a little toolbar at the bottom with the stuff that Fvillha mentions above... just dont forget to click back on the grid after you're done to go back to editing brushes :)

Thanks 7, glad to see I might be learning something, or at least paying attention.
BTW, how can you have over 1000 post, over one year with the Forum, and little reputation? Not that it really matters. I add to yours just now, see if it help you get a award or free coffee some where. :)
Many thanks for answering my question. Much appreciated
The romulan ship teleports the warp core in front of the Endeavour. To late for it to stop or high energy turn to avoid it since the core's not in ship to provide the power. OH NOOOO You can start working on Endeavory version B. Maybe a ship with two cores (backup/redundance system). Kirk to Scotty "we need more power". Scotty to Kirk, "Sorry slur, but the romulans sent me a case of Ale"and I am still working on it. Just surrender slur, then you can join me" :)
Damn. I guess I'll have to replace my ship then. Fine I'll go with a Nova Class battle frigate. The U.S.S. Endeavor A will set sail soon and seek revenge on it's Romulan enemies! :D

hehe.. I actually used to be the Site Manager of JK2Files (the site started in April 2002), since then I used to be on the JK2 forums here trying to make sure that it grew and remained popular. Which I'd like to think I was successful in doing because well.. check for yourself ;) http://www.gamingforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=116
But anyway, I spent the majority of my posts between April-August 2002. I left JK2files in October 2002.. during that time there was no such thing as Reputation. It's a pretty recent feature here at GamingForums :) I haven't been very active since October last year so I guess I missed out on the Rep :D Ah well.. doesn't really matter, but thanks for the Rep points :D
From the Ritualistic posting I would say you have a very strong/good rep going. Nice to have a good community of ppl to bounce ideas/problems with and get very quick/good answers.
I just now, getting past alot of the wish I knew enough about mapping to even point some of the newer noobs in the right directions.
Which are you prefering so far EF1 or 2 for mapping/modding?
I am sure they have pros/cons.
hehe thanks, but I'm still a beginner in mapping. I've only released one map for EF1(almost 7 months ago) and that's about it hehe..
But you're right, EF1/EF2 do have their pros/cons.
I suppose I like EF2 better atm.. I definitely love the power of the scripting abilities! It can really take a map so much more further. I also like the EF2 engine, it can handle a lot more than EF1. What I don't like about EF2 is that the way it displays the game seems a bit choppy (kind of like when you have lag). Even at a decent FPS of about 70, there are all these little pauses between doing things.. like before you shoot, or jump.. I find that a bit annoying. I guess a lot of people focus on the bad points of EF2 rather than the good, which is why so many people are ready to jump on the "EF2 sucks, EF1 is better" bandwagon.. but c'est la vie..
EF1 is a lot like Q3 (to me). And I personaly loved Q3 so playing EF1 is pretty nice :D However that's also the bad part of EF1.. it's more like a mod of Q3.. it's gameplay is just too identical that you can't really separate them.
Anyway, long answer short, I prefer EF2 mapping :) Sure it's a bit harder to mod, but then again as things get more advanced they also become complex.
With the Source code out I am sure we'll see some mods in the near future, by Christmas or early next year.
