Greetings all,

I got EF right after Christmas on a whim and have been enthralled with it since then (So yeah, go ahead and say it: n00b!). So on to the main point of this message (and why I joined this forum)...

After downloading several user-created maps, I downloaded the EF GDK and I can't make heads or tails of EFRadiant or anything else in there. Would anyone, out of the goodness of their 24th-century heart, be willing to guide me through the basics of making a map? Perhaps on AIM over a period of time? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

look for the basic tutorials on www.kevin.co.uk

you will be able to find most beginer stuff in there (I did too, the rest that you cant understand is in this forum, so read it.)

Bubbas is a great place for tutorials.

www.planetquake.com/bubba

It says for quake 3, but it works fine for all quake 3 based games.

Go here for TicknSwisted's EF mapping tutorial version 10 :D

or Get GTKRadiant. It comes with a user manual/mapping tutorial

Where can I find/download GTKRadiant? Need a manual. Tried mapping with the EFRadiant and tutorials downloaded from several EF sites and am totally lost.

Any recommendations?

As for learning to map with radiant (they're all differnet flavors of the same thing) All I can suggest is practice and asking a butt load of questions. what I don't understand about this forum is that all but one of the mods here are or were active members of the official raven mod board, and yet I don't see any of them trying to help you guys. Maybe the just don't have the time.... I know speed is workin his A$$ off to maintain EFFiles, be a mod on two forums, and recently started working on textures and shaders for some game, but the others should at least come see if any one needs some help.
