You click,

"FILE" in the File menu. "import" "Quake 3 arena, md3" Then select "head.md3", which is in the folder of the character. Milkshape can't edit the lower files to my knowledge.

If the head.md3 is not availible, you may need to change the pak0.pk3 file into "pak0.pk3.zip" or "pak0.zip" and open it with Winzip or in Windows ME as a folder. its a 500mb file so it could take a while, if you have a slow PC, a very long while, during this time it will seem to do nothing, or you won't be able to do nothing.

copy the files in "Models/players2" depending on which one you want

Extract the upper.mdr and lower.mdr files from the pak0.pk3 file.

.pk3 files can be opened with WinZip. (you don't need to rename it.. but to each their own ;))

Then open Milkshape.

Go to File>Import>Elite Force MDR

Then just browse to the directory you extracted the .mdr files to and open them one by one :)

I know how to do all that, what I need to know is if and how to assign verticies to stuff. I have my model built, I can get any mdr into milkshape, what do I do next? I want to get MINE in game, not THEIRS in milkshape.

Calm down man!

You MUST import once a model of EF with the plugin you can find on EFFiles...

Simply, cuz Milkshape need many many animation frame information.

Also, be sure your model will be animated like the one you imported...

After that, you have "Export MDR", select the right animation files you created, and that's it.

Of course, the best way would be to animate it by yourself, but it's a bit long.

Of course, since EF read Q3 model, you can model it in the Q3 way. Maybe tutorial around.

ok I'm getting it animated. I think. I'm having a hard time finding tutorials that arn't in german.

I'm sorry if I'm rude but I'm really getting frustrated.

Please explain to me in painfull detail (or point me to a tutorial) how to get this ingame. what animations do I need to make? what do they need to be named? what do I do with the imported MDR?

why is it that I can't get a response unless I'm rude, angry ro something?

can some point me toward some tutorials on animating in milkshape? I can't find any relating to the Q3 engine.
