I was wondering if anyone knows how to make a simple serverside weapon mod that will disable or severely nerf the Xrad secondary fire (nuke). My friends and I all hate that thing and would like to play without it. I nabbed someone elses weapon mod and tried to edit it to nerf the nuke but after editing the mod wouldnt work at all. I tried increasing the required ammo, decreasing the damage, increasing the reload time but nothing worked if I made any changes to the pk3 filee.

I am guessing that this shouldnt be too hard to do but I have no modding experience at all. Can any of you old pros help??

No source code noodling necessary. I got my mod working perfectly. My problem was ........ I tried to open and edit the pk3 file with winzip. Winzip will open it up and allow you to edit the pk3 and all looks ok. But when you save the edited file I think the path info was not being saved. Bottom line........ I got me a pak file editor and my mods now work like a charm.

If anyone is interrested, my mod only does two things:

disables the secondary fire for the Xrad decreases the sniper rifle reload time from 2.5 seconds to 1.25 seconds

The mod is serverside so only the server needs the file. Server just drops the file into the "base" directory and starts up the server. My mod is currently used on two EF2 servers........ Bloodrave.com and Idaho Powerstation. Only ones complaining are the talentless nukewhores. :)
