Hey,

A friend of mine is having a problem at the moment that I just can't get to the bottom of.... Since about July 15th his maps look like someone has splashed paint all over them. There are random blobs of color everywhere in Spyglass and the Voy maps etc... and many more. I've looked for suspicious .pk3 file but cant see a thing. Could it be a reg entry?

Any help appreciated pls..

And this happens only with EF1, not with other games ? And this happens only with certain EF1 maps and not with all EF1 maps ?

To take a screenshot that will take a proper picture of what is there, press "Print Screen" when it happens. Paste this into paint, save as a JPG or BMP then save and post it here.

Your graphics card vendor and model will be usefull.

All else i can reccomend is make sure you have the very latest drivers for you chipset, and you have that elite force is at V. 1.2.

Hi,

He's got a Radeon 9600 I think with all latest drivers and DirectX 9. He's got the 1.2 update for EF. It seems to happen on all maps - different colors every time and different shapes with varying severity every time. I don't have a screen dump at the moment - I'll get one though. One thing I have since realised, it only happens after playing Black Hawk Down (game) and an Adaware session will clear it. The only link between EF and BHD I could think of is a mod for EF he has where the phaser rifle has been replaced with a Barret Sniper Rifle as used in BHD.

Hope this will help....

Chris

P.S. Thanks for replying to such an old post...

lol, it was old? it wasnt that far down the list. A lot of questions get un-answerd here (theres more questions from new-comers then people to answer the questions) so i try my best to help.

The fact it only dose this after you play BHD is intresting. It would lead me to beleve that BHD could be corrupting a Direct X or OpenGL file, and that in turn is effecting Elite Force. Perhaps Adawre is picking up on this, deleting the file then Windows XP's new file protection system is restoring the old file. Thats a wild guess but it dose seam plausable.

I would try re-installing black hawk down (not elite force, but try it too perhaps) and see if that helps.

Untill i see a screenshot, i cant really tell if its the graphics card fouling up or somthing else.
