I just joined yesterday so I could ask yall these questions: I got the CustomCore.txt file working…sort of. I'm having 2 problems:
I cannot get the image of the Enterprise in the library.
I tried downloading several of the Constituion refits and they didn't work. So I downloaded the MK4 and then airbrushed it back to Enterprise NCC1701A. I renamed the directory and deleted the MK4 references. In effect it is now the Constitution refit.
It shows up as a variant under the Miranda Class, even if I call if Fed-Constitution or Fed-Cruiser5. I tried creating a Fed-Consitution group for the TOS constitution and the Constitution Refit (which one of the SFC books [I know, non-cannon], back in the 80's referred to as the Enterprise class.):Puzzled:
So I tried calling it Fed-Constitution Enterprise. I called it a cruiser. Still under Miranda and still no image.:Puzzled:
Ok, so I can't have the Enterprise, then give me the Reliant.
Finally, I tried to frell with the Miranda class to give it rear phasers using the D’Deridex’s Harpoint Editor for the gf file. and I cannot get more than 5 phaser hardpoints to appear in the game on either the Miranda or the Enterprise class.:Puzzled: The 7 Hardpoints show up in the gf file and I see all 9 points on Enterprises Model
Miranda has 6 phasers on the saucer (above and below), 2 on the extension, and 2 on the extensions facing backwards.:deal:
Enterprise had 6 phasers on the saucer, 2 facing down covering 120 degrees, and 1 on each side of the shuttle bay.:deal:
Now, non problems. Do I understand right that you cannot create custom arcs...just the 42 posted here?:deal:
Last question. What's a trackback?
Figured out the image problem, but everything else is still a problem. The pic files still had the MK4. Now I have an Enterprise with 9 Hardpoints showing only 5.

Open "invalid ships.txt" file and check if it contains any information about your new ship.
I would guess that the model may only have 5 hardpoints. You need to use 3ds max, gmax, or milkshape3d to add more hardpoints to the model.
Thanks for the quick response. I had read something to that effect but I didn't quite get it. Bear with me so I know I understand: The D'Deridex program does not allow you to add hardpoints to a model that does not already have room for the attachments? If Enterprise MK4 only had 5 hardpoints hardwired, that's all I can do with D'Deridex?:Puzzled: DoH!:bawl: I downloaded the hardpoint placer but I cannot find an exe or com file in it. Are any of the ones you name free and easy to use?
I made up some new numbers for the Weapon's weight to better reflect the starships actually guns in the show. I transferred these numbers into the core file and nothing changed in the game. Enterprise3850Ktinga1800Miranda2950Consitution1650Defiant3200Excelcior4350Galaxy7850Soverign7200Intrepid4750

Don't use text editor to edit specs files. Use Microsoft Excel to open them.
Hey thanks, I did the originial changes in Excel. Just now I found out the ship system mass changes require you to buy another ship before you see the difference. So I will go back to Excel. I tried to find a correlation between size and hardpoints but I'm not seeing it.
I must be the biggest dee dee deeeeee. I downloaded the New Orleans and the Enterprise MK4. I unzipped them to the \asset\model directory I renamed the 3 bmp and gf files to the matching directory name I opened the customcore file and pasted the statistics I opened the customloadout file and pasted the statistics. Why won't my ships appear?
Now I can get some of them to appear as variants but none in their own class. I tried Fed-Enterprise, Fed-Cruiser4. I got Prometheus under Fed-Cruiser as an Excelsior Variant...but I can't get it as it's own. Heeeeeellllllppppppp.
