Well this is a pretty simple question..... I'm just looking to find some kind of mod or patch that will allow me to stick more AI in a multiplayer battle/skirmish. The only 5 ships at a time is getting really old. It would so help out to have like a nice large battle in a game of dominion wars or the original now that my processor can handle it. I would think that this would be an easy problem to fix and there would be number somewhere in the programing that could be changed to allow more.
Bad news.:( You can't change the way the game operates without permission from Activision. Also, I don't know of anybody who has or even knows how to change that sort of a thing.
Good news.:D I once found (in campaign mode) a sector of space that had a dozen Federation ships in it. I had a Borg Cube at the time, and found that a stock Borg Cube can wipe from existence a Fed-fleet consisting of, a few sabers, a norway, a nebula, a galaxy, and a sovereign.:naughty:
well, i pretty sure the designers originally intended for this to be changed and allow for more, because there is a scroll bar there(which goes no where). If it originally was supposed to allow you to scroll down the screen,. The only way to do that is if there were more ships than what are on the screen. Six Ships is only half the screen, so it was originally intended and I'm willing to bet it's probably still somewhere in the source code and just needs a patch or mod. :D Anyone else?
Well I have 2 ideas how it would be possible to have more then 6 AI in Skirmish but I need help. 1.If you can't ADD more then six ships in skirmish maybe you can start the game with 10 AI, example-when you choose your ships in skirmish mode by default your ship is a fed Akira and no AI is selected, I'm thinkin maybe it would be possible to change that.My point is that you would start skirmish and already have 10 AI selected(without pressing the button). That way you wouldnt have to ADD then, they would be already there.BUT I may be wrong and that would just crash your game. 2.Somehow altering the sfc.ini Example-Entering MakeItSo=1 lets you play without the CD in or RaceShieldFX=1 changes the shield color maybe you could enter something like MaxAISkirmish=10 to change the max AI. I would realy like to play a big battle in SFC3(as would the rest of the world:) )
or you could alter the source code against activisions wishes for personal use, i mean what they gonna do!!! hehe, i don't even play sfc3 any more i play bc which can have over 20 ships with full 3d steering....
strayheroor you could alter the source code against activisions wishes for personal use, i mean what they gonna do!!! hehe, i don't even play sfc3 any more i play bc which can have over 20 ships with full 3d steering....
Activision can't do anything if you alter the code for personal use, only if you sell it for profit w/o permission. Besides, I think the source code belonged to Taldren, who programmed it; Activision was only the publisher. And Taldren closed down! And another thing: Activison rushed taldren to release the game pre-Nemesis, so Taldren couldn't do eveything they wanted: the Cardassians & Species 8472 were ment to be in the game: THEY WEREN'T (except for in the Dominion wars mod). ALL races were ment to be playable: THEY WEREN'T! There were originaLLy ment to be many more types of phasers and other weapons:THERE WERENT!! And as for Nemesis, the movie mission WASN'T EVEN IN THE RELEASE VERSION FO THE GAME!!! THANKS ALOT, "SMACK"-TIVISION!!!!
Maybe we should file a class action lawsuit against Craptivision for releasing a game with so many glitches. The people from Taldren that are around could testify that they were rushed into releasing a game that was no where finished.
Hmm, so that is why in the race names file, it has Cardassians and Species 8472. What a bunch of crappy-ass crap. But yeah, It would be awesome to be able to have like a 20 ship battle...
So are you 100% sure that it is imposible to have more than 6 ships of is there still hope?:uhm:
DaihakMaybe we should file a class action lawsuit against Craptivision for releasing a game with so many glitches. The people from Taldren that are around could testify that they were rushed into releasing a game that was no where finished.
There are no glitches, but entire aspects of the game that were left out. A lawsuit seems a little extreme, and besides, what judge/lawyer/court would take the case? Picture this scenario: SFC3 gamers: "they didn't put everything they were supposed to in the game" Judge: "Yeah, so?" Smacktivision Representatives: "Yeah, prove it!" SFC3 Gamers: "take a look at this" Judge: "I see" Smacktivision representatives: Prove this is from the game" SFC3 Gamers:" ITS ON YOUR CD!" Smacktivision representatives: "You Must have faked it!!" Since the SFC3 Gamers are not a big, multinational corporation like Craptivision, the court rules in favor of Craptivision, as always, the big guy with the best lawyers (anmd who bribed some jury members) always wins.
