I don't know if you are looking to edit the tactical display hardpoints or the harpoints as in, where the weapons come out of the ships. But if it is just the tactical display then go here http://www.nightsoft.net/downloads.htm#STARFLEET%20COMMAND If the first link doesn't work, then go to nightsoft.net then downloads, then to starfleet command and it is the one named d'deridex's hardpoint editor, it should be the first file you see when you click on starfleet command. As far as editing where the weapons come out of the ship. I have no idea. Wish I did though, because alot of the ships I have downloaded are messed up. But yeah, hope this helps.

is there any way of knowing what direction the hardpoints are going to be facing? The program doesn't show that, which is a shame... I'd like to be able to manipulate that.

Yeah, as far as editing direction. Download the adding ship tuturial from SFC3 files, in the folder is a chart of hardpoint and the numbers that correspond with each arc. In your default core file is where you will find these numbers. :borg: :assimilate: :borg: :borg:

The tutorial is good... It just neglects one thing - Are the hardpoint factors I edit VL for format, or TI? I'm gonna assume it's VL as most of the other stats seem to be so.

Okay, i think I need some help here...

Here is my hardpoint layout made by the hardpoint program... http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Ophiuchus/sol1.png Here's the line I have.. 55 DN 3000 0 3000 20000 20000 6700 32000 Fed-Dreadnaught3 Sol PrimaryHP:1:0_360:2:0_360:3:0_360:4:0_60:5:330_30:6:300_360:7:210_270:8:150_210:9:120_180 HeavyHP:12:240_300:13:240_300:14:240_300:15:60_120:16:60_120 HullHP:1:2:3 BridgeHP:1 ship Mines:24:24:24 Marines:20:20:20 Shuttles:8:8:8

Here's the hardpoint image from the guide... http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Ophiuchus/FA_800x600.jpg So, you're probably saying "What's wrong? these stats look right" aren't you? The angles look fine in relation to the ship. However, opening up the game and going to refit ship yields a different result. Here's my primary weapons http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Ophiuchus/sol2.png And my secondary weapons http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Ophiuchus/sol3.png

So.. um... What happened?

Note: if you get an ingame image for sol1, and sol3 is the editor program... wait for photobucket to update. I did have the OLD errors saved by the same names there.

 This may help you: I downloded a tool for starfleet command 3 wich comes with instructions on creating a ship. within there it explains everything you may need to know about hardpoints. The tool was called Starfleet Command 3 Model Tools and i think you can get it off of sc3files.
