Hello, got a bit of a problem with putting hardpoints on my models in Milkshape. I've put them in the places that I want them to be, but when I try the ship in game, the weapons fire from all the wrong places. I've tried every thing I can think of to try and fix this problem, but with no luck. I've tried to assign the hardpoint to the vertexs near it, but that hasn't worked either. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

Did you name the HP's correctly, and assign the proper weapons/arcs to them?

The proper arcs have been assigned to them, but what do you mean by properly named?

What Greenvalv means is are you sure you matched up the hardpoints on the models correctly with the hardpoints on the VL layout and in the DefaultCore file.

For example, if you had a phaser mounted on the front of your ship with an FA arc, you would call it hardpoint1 on the model. In the DefaultCore file under primary weapons you would assign this hardpoint an arc by typing 1:30_330 and when you add the VL layout information to the .gf file, you would make sure that this harpoint is the first primary weapons hardpoint.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. It's been a while since I've manually added ships to SFC3.

Okay I double-checked that and everything lines up right, but they're still firing wrong.

Only thing was that there's no 30_330, it's 330_30 (Clock-wise) ss2gohan, send me the model and specs you've made (greenvalv@yahoo.com) and I'll try troubleshooting it....

The problem is the Milkshape .mod export plugin. It mirrows the position of the hardpoints, so a phaser mounted on the left will appear on the right side in Milkshape.

Okay, thanks Grednedlog, that definitely solves my problem. I have been working on trying to figure this out for quite a while now. Oh and Greenvalv, I sent you a copy of the ship, but now that I know how to fix the prob, well....would you be able to test it and let me know what you think of it here?

That won't happen for a while since my main computer is sick in the shop.... but I do remember the annoyance of the plugin reversing everything.....
