Are there any Texturers/Modelers who would mind making a detailed Ronin Class? Like the one here: http://www.ussmiranda.com/ships/ronin.htm
please do not make requests. This is very bad form. Sure, there are some peolple who could do it, but most skilled moddlers have thier own projects to stress and sweat over, without answering requests. I know, I've been chewed out for making these sort of requests on the Klingon Academy forums. That being said, I believe that there is a Ronin At StarfleetCommand3.filefront.com in the Federation ships section. If not, you might find one at www.battleclinic.com in the community docks, Federation section.
As I said, there definately is a Ronin class already made, I'm just not quite sure where to get it. Try the 2 sites listed above.
I don't think there's anything wrong with making requests. It lets modelers like me know what ships people would like to see. As long as the people making the requests are patient, polite, understand that the modeler has a life of his or her own and may not be able to finish the model soon or at all, I don't see any reason why we should discourage anyone from making requests.
You see, to me, it's selfish to make requests. If the modeler asks for ideas, then that's one thing. But to simply come here and say "hey, make this ship for me!" is extremely rude and selfish. Skilled modelers have thier own projects to stress and sweat over without answering a thousand requests. To make a good model takes a long time, and people should hate to just start work on the most kick-ass model ever, and suddenly be asked to do septillions other ships for one guy. Modelers don't exactly get paid, and therefore should work only for themselves. If they want to release ships to the public, that's fine. But it should be done on thier schedule, not on someone else's.
XIthSolrax didn't say "hey, make this ship for me!" He politely asked if anyone would mind making a ship for him, which is very different. Also, modelers aren't under any obligation to to fulfill his request. If he demanded that someone make this ship and then whined about it until someone finished it, then I would agree with you. However, I think that he handled himself very appropriately and should not be repremanded for making a simple request. Requests help give modelers fresh ideas that they can work with at their leisure and should not be discouraged.
I'm aware of that fact. it's just best to not get into a habit of asking and making requests. One can become dependant on it, and get into a habit. it is best to be warned of how rude it can be before one can get into such a habit.
hmmmmm the one from battleclinic.com was not exactly what i was looking for thats why i asked here cause i wanted to know if any would mind making a better one that is if they have time.
I thought I saw a ship more like the one you want, called the Corona-class, I believe. Can't remember where to get it, though, It was in the Dominion Wars mod, and the latest Alternate Universe mod, I think, so I'll send it to you if you want.
