Okay. Let me first say that yes, I know there is a topic for this sort of thing. It has, however, expired (is it just me, or is really useless to have an expired sticky...or not to allow anyone to post in a topic at all in a message board?). And thus I cannot post in it. Instead of taking the hint, however. I'm just gonna put this up, since this forum doesn't seem to have that much activity anyway.
::CLASS HISTORY:: The Osiris-Class Light Cruiser was launched in 2385 to replace the venerable Miranda Class, and the Sabre-class. Even moreso as Deep-Space probe ships designed to fill out Starfleet's presence in the Gamma Quadrant. These craft are built to handle just about any situation. Despite their relatively small size, Osiris-Class postings are sought after because of the pure exploration these ships were designed for.
That is not to say these are ships that go down easy. They posses a fierce complement for their size class, and are one of the first Federation starships to fully incorporate the defences brought back by the USS Voyager, including armor and a limited complement of Transphasic torpedoes. Other armaments include the standard Photon and Quantum torpedoes. And type XII phasers.
Known Osiris Class ships include the USS Osiris (NCC-82998), USS Woglinde (NCC-83020), USS Revere (NCC-83032), USS Passage to Bangkok (NCC-83012), USS Exeter (NCC-82999), USS Lexicon (NCC-83003), and the USS Miyazaki (NCC-1941-C).
The first pic is the final design. The second is the initial concept. I was thinking that the 2-deck reception hall beneath and slightly forward from the bridge should be kept.
Anyone interested in building her? If anyone is, please e-mail me. There's lots of other stuff about her, especially about the surprises under her hood.
