Has anyone been able to figure out how to increase the recharge rate of the phasers and torpedoes? Other than just increasing the level of phaser, I want to adjust its recharge time, something more canon with the ST Universe.

And here's praying to Santa, would someone know how to increase the acuracy of the torpedoes? such as a volley of 6 might have a hit rate of more than...say.. 17% ???

I'm ready to get a dll cracker and some programming tools out, if someone could let me know what language it's written in?

Any help guys? Thanks!

as soon as you find out how to do let me know....i'm not much when it comes to real programming...i can change around the model folders, dc and dlo files and get what i want.......but i have yet to find a way to change the recharge time for weapons, but I have found a way to help with acuracy. There is a line in the DC file..i think it is the size class....yeah size class not ship size. Set the size class for all ships to a really high number. That got my tropedoes to where a full volley (depending on which ship i have could be 1 to ummm 15 tropedoes) will hit about 80% of the time. Just play with that size class and it will help with both tropedeo and phaser accuracy.

Lol thanks for the tip Final. As an update, I've used a program called IDA to decompile the exe. I've been using the find function to look for what I want but if someone knows C++ I'd apreciate some help in understanding the arguments. I have some kowledge of VB so I understand how the arguments are built, but it seems that the recharge rate is spread across 4 or 6 different places all adjusted by variables and hex values. I thought I had found a way to change the rates but alas, after altering the exe I still didn't change anything. I'm hoping someone with a programming background could read this and give me a shout? -C

According to the manual, the chances of hitting the enemy depend on the skills of your tactical officer.

I haven't messed too much with this yet, but if you look at Assets\CommonSettings\WeaponItems.gf (plain text file), you will see something like:

[PrimaryItems\PHASER IXS]

Description = "PHASER IXS" Cost = 550 Mass = 50 Health = 15 Energy = 2.0 Damage = 4.0 Race = "F"

...and I suspect "energy" is the consumption, so you might want to try making this a very small number (0.1?) to see if those phasers recharge any quicker.

nope that will not have any effect on the recharge rate of the weapons. The Energy is the amount of energy weapon needs to work. So if you have a lot of type 12 phasers you will need to have a better warp core to have enough power for the weapon to even work.

Without modding files, I think you have to increase the ratio of Warp Power usage to Warp Power available when you refit your ship(s). The wider the gap, the faster all your systems should react; weapons charging, shields etc.

trust me me that does no good.....i changed all the power output for the warp core to 9000, and changed the amount of power the weapons need to about .01 and the recharge rates are the same as they where out of the box.
