Hello all,

I just pulled out my copy of SFC3 and wanted to play on my MBP. I've got both VMware and WINE installed. I am having trouble getting SFC3 to work as it wants 16 bit color desktop. Is there a way to force 32 bit color?

Also, where does it store the resolution for the games? I look in sfc3.ini and the registry but I did not see screen resolution in there.

Thanks!

It could be your system is only seeing the game in 16-bit due to your graphic card settings. Try disabling visual themes (right click on the SFC icon and click "disable visual themes" under "properties") and see if this corrects the problem.

The following is required for SFC III to operate properly:

A 100% DirectX® compliant 3-D video card is required. Star Trek Starfleet Command III uses DirectX® 8.1 (upgrade this to 9.0c when installing the game and DO NOT allow 8.1 to install) to support 3-D hardware acceleration. Star Trek Starfleet Command III has been tested on many but not all of the major cards incorporating the chipsets listed below:

· nVidia™ Riva TNT and TNT2 · All nVidia™ GeForce chipsets · ATI® Rage 128 · All ATI® Radeon chipsets · Matrox® G400 & G550 · Kyro® 1 and 2 · Intel® i810e
