Today i ran into something strange again. At the beginning of each mission and before i go to red alert i noticed that one of my aft torpedo tubes showed damage in the red no less . Can anyone tell me why this happens ?
The game tries to follow the laws of physics to a point. I'd make a guess your power output ratio is off. You probably have all your phasers maxed out with high yield outputs, high shields, etc. and not enough warp power to compensate; in a few more game plays you'll discover the game will just blow up your ship anyway and end the mission. Try reducing the phasers to a setting lower under the refit option in the game and use the extra to pump up the warp engines a bit if you have enought perstige and/or space for it. In most cases this will fix the problamatic system failure when you go to combat mode. For more help on how to modify your game so you don't have to deal with the "out of the box" stock settings, go to the tutorial on SFCIII homepage and click on Customizing SFC3. I'd give you a direct link, but this site is blocking my ability to right click on the http.
I was using the biggest warpdrive possible for that type of ship. I always do. And i only use the biggest phasers when i have a warpdrive to match. As a matter of fact the warpdrive was a SB type drive.
