So I have an annoying problem. It seems that after playing any of the given campaigns for a while, my weapons no longer work in battle. They charge appropriately, yet don't register as ready to fire when they are fully charged. It usually happens directly after I buy a new ship, but even refusing to upgrade only delays the problem for a while. I've tried using mods to see if that corrects the problem, but unfortunately haven't had any luck.

Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix it?

I don't know what causes this, but I've had this problem on multi-player mods, never heard of the issue with single player. I've experienced targeting lock glitches (where you can't use your mouse to lock on a target when you could the mission before) and instances where the voice will cut out for no apparent reason. There is the possibility, although unlikely that it could be a RAM/CPU issue, but given the jitters the SFC III game engine has a history of, I'd suspect a programming issue with the game and/or mod you are using. Typically a fresh install w/ patch and mod after a disk defragment and disk clean up of the computer will correct the problem.

I did what you said with a fresh install and disk defragment/disk cleanup, but I'm experiencing the same problem still. After some more play testing, it appears to be mostly connected to refits, and doesn't seem to happen with stock arrangements. If I mess with the shields it seems to be OK, but anything else and the weapons lock up on me. What boggles me is that it never used to do that, but it's been a more recent development. I've done probably a dozen fresh installs and it's really starting to frustrate me because this is one of my favorite games. I'll mess around with it some more to see If I can get it to work, but I'm not hopeful.

Are you adding new ships to the game? If so might want to retrace your steps, all it takes is a space in the wrong spot when putting the ship information in the core and default files for your weapons to show up, but not work. Check to see which weapons are working if any, then go back to the core file, make sure the the HP arcs are valid and then check to make sure you don't have any errors on the defaultloadout line item for the ship in question.

i got another question....when i placed weapon arcs, they show up not on that place i placed them.. what i did: -i add a saladin-class ship -copy it and rename it to saladin MkII -placed a aft-phaser and -torpedo launcher suddently it show up like on this picture imgBOX.de - Flirten - Chatten - an Freunde verschicken allthough they are functioning right, they are at thr wrong place I also tried other angles (first:150_210, than 120_240) anyone an idea whats wrong??? thanks for answers

I know this sounds obvious, but did you save the HP changes in the editor?

Also you want to make sure the numerical sequence (number of hard points) applied in the editor matches the defaultcore and loadout files exactly, otherwise the game will not know where you want them and randomly place the HP in default positioning. For example: If you have HP 1, 2, 3 saved on the ship. You don't want 1, 2, 3, 4 in the core or loadout file...otherwise (4) will work, but be in a random setting when you view the ship.
