Which do you think is the best lightsabre design in the movies?
For Episodes 4 till 6, base your judgement on the Special Editions.
Personally, I prefer the prequel SE's sabres. They look more like LIGHTsabres, with a much healtier glow. The prequel lightsabres look dull in their light. I don't know... they just don't have that feel to them. Episode 2's even worst. The core is thin, but the glow is fat. I'm sure the team making the sabre effects are losing their touch...

Lol WJTW, you're on a roll... every other thread has you as the author :)
I actually prefer Ep2's saber, they seemed more realistic to me.
can u imagine the tech were tring to work with here holy balls man. i hate the 4-6 sabers they r to shaky nothin to them no feel. AND THEY DISAPEAR ON U
so in the end its ep 1 since we got a nice double saber :)
I don't like the new tube sabers, they're fat and stupid, I liked the StarWars Triolgy's sabers, nice and thin
'holy balls man'?
The Ep1 sabres are ok. But it is the Ep2 ones that looked bad. Too fat, core too thin, and the glow look too 'painted on'.
Still, the classic trilogy one look good because it has the best glow effect. The unstable looking glow is what we see in JK2, don't we?
I've never been able to catch the lightsabres disappearing, except for once, where the smoke of the carbon chamber covered the sabre when Luke fell in. You can see the way it disappeared is a bit un-natural. Strange this disappearing lightsabre 'bug' is still around in a Special Edition. Surely with newer tech. they shouldn't have such problems.
Now, don't anyone start a 'you don't know what a lightsabre look like, so stop critiscising it!'. If I am correct, the movies that come first are the ones that comes closest to be true. And since the designs of the Spec. Edition sabres came before the prequel trilogy, I take them to be a more reliable gauge. Besides, as someone has found out, 'lightsabRes' should be considered the canonical spelling since it was the spelling first used... but I don;t really mind. lightsabre is just two words formed into one word. They're still separate words.

lol i think they should put up a sticky that says "be carfull when posting on threads made by WJTW". u can c a big dissapear in ep4 when hes training with the little ball thingy with obi. thats where the famous Han Solo line came from. there is no force line ya know

Ah, no wonder. Luke's green sabre is in it. Yes, of the prequel trilogy, my favourite would be the ones in ROTJ. The effects are the most refined of the three, with EP4 being the worst.

On someone's page, there is a photograph showing the lightsabre disappear. It is during the Vader and Ben Kenobi duel. he said it lasted for quite a long time.
