I'm ashamed to say it but I do. Its way over complicated. Admitedly I have only played FFA but that was enough to put me off the rest of the games. Duel is brilliant but FFA is too scrappy and hit and miss. Everyone just seems to run around waving lightsabers but not actually doing anything. There is no coherence to it. Im used to playing RTCW which is so addictive and the team play elements and the classes are a stroke of genius but JK2 Multiplayer is a chore to play. Too many silly force powers, and if you havent got a ping under 200 then its pointless playing because lightsaber fights are a pinpoint affair. I also find that I get really low frame rates when playing FFA. I have an 800mhz P3, 512mb RAM, GeForce 3 200 Ti which is more than enough to give me 40-50 FPS on any map in RTCW with 20 or so players, but whatever map I play on JK2 MP i get 20 FPS on average with less players, even with the detail all turned down.

I dunno, I really like the game in Single Player, and Duel MP but the rest is silly.

Anybody else feel the same?

I kind of agree with you there.. MP is a little over complicated, the games are moving toooo fast to be able to use everything you are supplied with. I find that in FFA's pretty much EVERYONE has their light saber on, and the light sabers decrease FPS by quite a bit! So FFA with many players is virtually unplayable with me because FPS is too low. CTF is reasonable, if I'm playing with the right people then it's all good.. however if you're stuck with the saber-wielding players again then you're in trouble. Though the #1 reason I got JK2 was to play with my friends online which I do, so I'm happy :D But generally speaking JK2 is a great game, single player was great, multi player needed to be worked out a little more.. but not too bad. I suppose once the modding community kicks in full gear things will start shaping up as people are able to change the game with mods... the ideas are endless...

i dont think jk2 is over complex - yeah before you can really enjoy it you gotta put in the groundwork (ie get familure with all the keys, powers, gunz, lvls) but the idea that people just run around hap hazardly waving sabers aint the case in the games i play - if this were the case then how come the same people consistantly win - the game would get dull too quick if it were simple - as for demanding on the comp - true but there should be products out there pushing what can be done not focusing on backward compatibility for old systems - im runnin on a 1.7k 256ddr Gforce2 with adsl - not a dream machine and its more than capable... keep at it and you'll learn to love ffa 10player nar shadda mmMMmmmmm

Whats all this poor FPS stuff im hearing about

My computer is possibly the largest pos out...its a 600mhz celeron overlocked to 747mhz. I recieve around 35 fps on thoose lag busters u all were complaining about and a constant 65 at any other moment. Also im on a 56k modem and can own most players in a duel.... :smack:

Its also about time a game company came out with a good dueling game that requires accuracy....ive always dreamed of a bushindo blade online pc game

Also i have a question...is there anyway to say your taunt once and only once....cause if u type /+taunt in console they say it until u type /-taunt URG I HATE THAT!!

If you bind the taunt, it will only do it once and easier to access Type this in your console: /bind j +taunt ('j' can be replaced with any key you wish) So every time you press 'j' or whatever key, the player will taunt once.

I agree with Mr. bondage. The duel is way cool, but the rest of the mp just sucks. Anybody wanna tell me how playing capture the Ysalimari is different than ctf? Also, configuring the bots in jk2mp is just anoying. I like the Quake III engine, but the mp interface should have been done UT style. Single Player rocks! especially when you enable cheats and type: g_saberRealisticCombat 1 into the console. Off with his head!

P.S. Anybody know where I can get a vader skin?

Angel: I resent that. AD&D is a lot more grown ppl agme than 99.9% of computer games (JK2 included). The day I see a l33t ADnD player saying I r0xxored dat d|2ag0n I'll change my mind. but not before.

Personally I don't think noforce saber only is more skillful. It's less skillful if you ask me. Without force powers or guns, it's all being worried about getting into close combat asap and knowing EXACTLY what the opponent has against you. There's no need for skill in keeping powerups timed, or for finding that perfect spot to snipe on ppl (I haven't seen many good ones in this game). Sure, getting grip dropped all the way down to nar shadaa surface gets old after a while, but its so easy to counter u only get killed if u panic. IMO, restricting jk2 to sabers noforce is like going for a rocket only game in q3a. I'd almost bet that some1 who plays with everything on will have a better performance in saber noforce than viceversa, and that's all that would take to prove me right and you wrong. (h rtick is picking th right players)

EDIT: oh yeah, ffa is a bit too chaotic. Duel is th way to go for me. Still haven't tried ctf/y, though

Okay, now could you repeat that in english w/o the extra letters and grammar mistakes? It's one thing when it's not that big of a mistake but its sumthin else when its its just plain hard to read.Besides your probably one of grip spammers yourself.Don't talk of what you don't know.
