actually.. its funny watching all these "great,uber,leet,super,fantastic...etc etc.." players that just do strong style finishing moves all day long and rack up kills and.. well its not complicated.. its..lame. where is the style.. the honor... the skill? gone. fer reasl thos this game generally takes percision playing, but after a bit of learning.. the game takes a new life of its own. lightsaber vs lightsaber fighting is great and hats off to the devs for bringing it to us like this. just remember to practice, practice, practice. its fun. if u can find a decent server anymore with out the cheater hackers and lamers. what ever happend to honor and skill? anyone agree?

Well, IMO JK2 MP is great, if you're used to it.

It does take skill with no force powers or guns, but the people out there who say otherwise are either rubbish. Or who can't see past the guns to realise that this is more than an FPS game, much more in fact, the saber combat and force powers in this game set it apart.

Sure, if you want guns non-stop go buy a normal FPS, because JK2 isn't your thing, but if you like lightsabers, have the patience to practise with them and get used to them.

Yes, there are lamers who run around madly with a lightsaber, but if you were good enough to delve into the world of the lightsaber then you would easily be able to deal with them...

btw, my cpu runs on a VooDoo 5, Win 98 and 128 RAM and I can still own with a lightsaber.

I personally think that the lightsaber fights in MP and SP aren't good enough. They're too frantic and uncontrolled.

In the Star Wars films the lightsaber fights are smooth and cool, with a lot of saber contact, whereas in JK2 and JA the lightsaber fights involve mainly hitting someone, then running away because for some reason, at whatever level of saber skills, you just can't block a lot of the attacks that come your way.

In my opinion the lightsaber fights need to be not necessarily slower, but definately more controlled and elegant, with a better defense system than what's in place now.

The lightsaber fights aren't too bad actually, if you don't suck

i love jk2/ja mp. its that fast-paced drop jaw acrobatic/aerobatic saber-slingin action ive waited for for a LONG time. i once just stood back and watched 2 guys go at it, and it was awe-inspiring; guys leapin 50 some-odd feet in the air, runnin on and up walls, fighting in mid-air... all kinds of bad-ass crap! i love the jk series because of its loads of features which some find hard to access, but once you learn the game, it rocks the frickin world! i dont know what this "too complex" crap is, but im sure you all will get to know and love the awesome-ness of this game.

* If sabers hurt your FPS and you bog down when alot of people start swinging sabers around, replace them all with swords, turn off all the glow effects and turn off dynamic lights. * If the battles aren't realistic enough, mess with the dismemberment settings until you get it just right, jack up all the damage values, turn on location damage. On our lan games sabers and guns generally all kill with a couple hits, if you don't have shields and someone hits you with a deadly weapon, you will be very lucky to live. This makes the whole game more realistic AND more balanced, TFA saber attacks become meaningless because ALL saber attacks are deadly, even an idle blade can cut you in half fairly quickly. and guns are ultra deadly too - all of them are, so it is fun to use all the guns and not feel like you better get one of these couple good ones if you want to survive. Sure many battle end quickly, but quite often they do not, even with these settings I have still gotten into many long drawn out saber duels, and even seen some big battles almost begin to drag on. This makes for a VERY intense game. * FFA blows.. :D sorry, I know some people like it so that is just my opinion. Duel, TFFA, CTF, are all alot of fun. I generaly dislike FFA in all MP games. It is chaotic madness. Last Man Standing can be fun in some games. I wish that JK2 had some options for that type of game. Like Team games in AHL or counterstrike where you only get one life and then your a ghost until one team wins the match. I have allways felt this adds alot to the feel of an MP game, it makes you really think about what your doing because one wrong move could be your last and then your out until next round. It also creates those situations where your the last guy on your team, everyone else is dead, and it's you against the whole enemy team which is intense - with realistic damage you could stand a chance because it may only take 3 good shots to take the other team out, or one well place grenade, but with damage like in JK2 default settings you would barely have a chance 1 against 3 if they where all decent players working together because you'd have to hit all 3 of them so many times. Your only chance would be a few high damage tactics. so between JK2s built in settings and the various mods that are available, with a little tweaking, I think you can create a game experience that suits your own tastes. It really is a pretty amazing game and if there be any fault with it it is mostly in how very little the modding community has done with the incredible potential the game has. The MP engine could lend itself very well to almost any type of game. guns, equipment, saber/sword/melee, special moves, force abilities, dismemberment - trying to add things like magic or matrix style abilities, or cybernetic implants, or sword fighting/melee combat to most other MP engines would be a heck of a lot more difficult. In a way it's to bad JKA came along and sort of destroyed half the mod community for JK2 because alot of great stuff was being done for it. It makes me realize how nice it is in a way that they spend so long working on each half life game - both taking the time to make a really great game and giving the community time to really pull some sick stuff with the engine before releasing the sequel. To this day some of the half life mods are the best MP gaming I have ever experienced.
