This thread is specifically for new ideas for JediPlus. If you have some ideas please post them here & hopefully the JediPlus mod team will read & consider the ideas. I myself have tried contacting them & have been unsuccessful since the 4.3 release. I was able to get an email back from one of the coders (or THE coder from the impression I got at the time, he said he liked the idea would consider it but wouldn't start working on it right away because he was on vacation at the time) about making a variable that allows you to have extra force points, so I think I am the one who originally came up with the idea for the new rank, but that is debatable. Anyways, the point is I have some new ideas & no way of telling him (or them) the ideas & I'm sure there's some of you out there that feel the same way, so please post any ideas you may have here & hopefully they will get a chance to look at them & consider them.

1)Have an option that allows the jetpack to be for Mercs only in Jedi vs Merc mode. Perhaps the jetpacks fuel gauge should be the force mana bar? The jetpack gauge sounds nice, but would be a difficult option to use if you weren't in Jedi vs Merc mode.

2)Have the grapple be able to tie people up like Jengo Fett does to Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode 2.

3)Add a second gauge of some kind (whether its numbered or a bar) that allows you to run for only so long. If you walk or stop obviously the bar should go back up, but if you constantly run & jump too much it should make it so you have to walk; Or perhaps you can only run when you have some force & running takes a little bit of force at a time.

This idea is still in VERY raw format, I'm just sick of people that keep running away while your trying to fight them. Running away while you're taking a swing is 1 thing, but that's not what I'm on about.

4)Have force sight allow you to see whomevers health/shields when they are in your crosshairs. Force sight level 1 should be the same as it is now, force sight level 2 should allow you to see their shields, & force sight level 3 should allow you to see their shields & health. Keep in mind allot of times people will only be in your crosshairs for a split second, so what's being shown should stay visable for at least a couple of seconds.

5)Have some sabers be invisable for certain hilts such as the lockerbie hilt. That way there won't be a glow to it when you use it. Also, have different sounds for different hilts/sabers. If you both are using the lockerbie hilt, you should hear swords clashing & not lightsabers clashing.

6)Add a new gametype: tournament duel mode. Just like duel mode, except you can have multiple duels at one time. This may require maps specifically designed for this gametype; Or perhaps add an option for mappers that allow certain doors to close & open based upon whether or not a duel is taking place in the room. I love dueling in JediPlus, my main problem is is I have a crap video card & a 256k DSL connection, so I can play in maps such as jedicouncilgc2 but I get really lagged out when the doors open & close, as well as if there's someone in the room watching. Dueling in JediPlus FFA is soooooooooo much better than normal dueling (as long as there isnt 16 people in 1 room) not only because of all the cool features JediPlus adds, but the fact you don't have to wait to go & duel.

Perhaps this new tournament duel mode could just be FFA, but you can't do any damage to players unless if you're in a duel; Or instead of doing a whole new gametype, just make a client-side option that allows you to not do any damage to anyone (& vice versa) unless you are in a duel; But YOU MUST make it so that it only takes effect the next time you spawn, otherwise people will be attacking others then turning it on.

7)Make it so that the smaller scaled model you have, the more damage is multiplied. A model that's half the size of the original has 2 advantages. The first is the fact that the larger scaled model doesn't have as much area he can hit, so if he makes a high swing that would normally hit the model, now it won't because it's smaller. The second is the fact that the larger scaled opponent doesn't have as good of a defense where his legs are, the only way he can really defend himself is to crouch, but that would slow his rate of movement down.

8)Have a client-side option that allows you to not use the new stances while using the single saber or old stances with the dual sabers/light bo (this should be 2 options, 1 for single sabers, 1 for dual sabers/light bo).

9)Come up with a cheat prevention feature that will get rid of those wannabes using that reconnecting cheat (they lag the server, then reconnect or something like that, the end result is them staying in the duel but with full health).

10)Make an option that lags players down, this way everyone in the room has at least a certain ping. I hate going into a room with a 130 ping against someone who has a 30 ping & them thinking they're hot stuff. Granted, you can still take a person out that has a 30 ping to your 130 & it's not a world of difference, but when 2 players that go head to head & the LPB just barely wins, you tend to really favor this type of feature. I would like an option that changes a players ping so that it is more evenly matched. The bottom line is if we would have swung at the same time he would win just because of the 100 ping difference, 100 is a decent ping.

11)Swap the Orange & Purple color stances, meaning everything as it now with the 2 new stances, except the colors. I think the Purple colored stance should be the slower, more damaging stance like the red stance is for the original 3 stances.

I know this may seem stupid to some of you & I doubt they will change it, but to this day it throws me off & every time I use one of these 2 stances I think to myself "it should be the other way around".

12)Add 2 new stances, 1 specifically for (& only usable for) the dual sabers (probably that little number Anakin runs on Dooku in Episode 2), & the other one, again only for the light bo. Modifying the Orange & Purple stances specifically for the light bo/dual sabers would be nice too considering aside from the Orange left-right manuever (like people do with Yellow stance), the 2 stances are pretty useless at the moment; But the 3 original stances look crap with the dual sabers/light bo as the saber blades tend to run right through the player model where the 2 new stances very seldom do that.

13)Have an option that scales players with lower pings to be able to move faster (like the timescale feature, but for those who have lower pings are sped up); & I don't mean for players that have a 200 ping, only a minor adjustment for them, but a much faster one for those poor guys that still have dial-up & are forced to play with 300 or more pings.

I had a few more but I can't remember them at the moment. I will post more if I can remember or think of more.

Final Thoughts: I would like to ask everyone to STOP USING DUAL LIGHT BOS ON THEIR SERVERS just because it quadrouples the players defenses & it makes fights last waaaaayyy too long, most of which is just dumb luck, again, because the defense has quadroupled. If you use a light bo then you have better defense on your front & back right side, if you have dual sabers you have better defense on your left & right front side, if you have dual light bos, its just ridiculous. So on that note... 14)Lower the blocking ability for those people who use dual light bos.

Those are some damn good ideas. Keep thinkin, because honestly i dont think the programmers are really trying to think of anything new anymore. Thats why they should pay attention to guys like us, we know what we want, and thats what they should do. :)..but anyway, personally i think that instead of new saber stances and styles, you should be able to create your own moves. Maybe keep the basic speeds, and damage ratios, but let the player design his own slices. It would make the game a lot more fun. And i think that this feature would make your Mod the most popular around. I hope my idea is at least thought about. Since i dont know how hard this would be to do i dont really expect anything of it. But tell me what you think...

15)The original 3 stances's special manuevers should be available in any stance. This would make things ALLOT easier.

16)Yellow special should be easier to do. In order to do the yellow special you must have your opponent in a close range AND he must be in your crosshairs. I was thinking of perhaps making the crosshair area bigger (not the actual crosshair, just the area it detects players), or making it so that you don't need an opponent in front of you at all to do the move (ideal).

17) Make the deflection system how it was in 1.03. Allot of times people will hit you or vice versa & it won't count it. For awhile I thought it was lag, but according to Chief, it may be the deflection system.

18)Make the dual challenge button offer 2 types of challenges, 1 for a force duel, 1 for a non-force duel. Like you press the challenge button, then you can hit attack1 or attack2 to choose between the 2.

19)Make an away button. The primary function of this feature is for getting rid of those jerks that hit you when your saber is down. At first it should warn them (because they may have hit them on accident), but if they persist to hit the same player, they get kicked from the server. I think this button should undraw the saber & possibly go into the meditate emote (you shouldn't be allowed to move around while in this feature because you may be in a fight & go into this mode to get the player kicked from the server). This button should probably give some sort of warning to the players around him that hes going into away mode, then a second or 2 later, he goes in the mode.

20)Make it so that if you press the duel button while in a duel it breaks the duel, but I think there should be a confirmation button as well because they may hit it on accident.

21This is actually an extension of #16. I think the client side should send 1 command to the server to do the specials as opposed to 3 or 4. The client should still have to do the manuevering of course, but specials take to long to do & are still pretty dodgy (reds not, but blue takes too long to do & yellow is pretty dodgy). EXAMPLE: To do the blue special at the moment, the client has to send 3 commands to the server to make the move happen; Well if you could make it so that when the client does these 3 things on their end fast, it just sends 1 command (specifically for the special move) to the server & then it executes the move. Most of the time I have to hold the crouch button down for a second before I press forward & attack for the move to work, I should be able to do that move in 1 second & I think with it set up this way it should work out allot better; Sort of like how the stances are set up in JediPlus/OmniMod. In regular JK2 duels I would switch to a different style & occasionally it would not work where with JediPlus/OmniMod, that NEVER happens. It looks like its taking longer because the color hasn't changed, but its actually the same, normal JK2 just doesn't show you are not in that style stance until you finish the current move you are doing.

22)Make it so that when clients vote on kicking a player, that player can not join for a certain amount of time (probably until the map is over). I hate vote kicking people that are being jerks, then they just reconnect.

OH OH I GOT ONE I GOT ONE!!!!

you know how you have to pick light side and dark side powers in the start of the game..well how about they make an outcast side where you use the same powers as kyle (including the sight)

second see of you can get an rpg style where you fight the same way but you gain levels an power and stuff like that(kinda like diablo)

and last(for now) you also know how there is a jedi council rank of the game. make somthing like chosen jedi and have it where the character can use every last force yes dark and light and even the neutral parts with full points..thats a melee i can watch for some time to come

I like the idea of using all force powers &/or choosing which force powers you can use (some light, some dark), but I think the RPG aspect of the game should remain in single player.

I will post this idea to the programmers.
