Someone mentioned that lightsabres cannot saw people in half or break anybody's body parts and complained of this error or something in The Phantom Menace when Darth Maul's body broke in half.

And one guy even said that Luke's hand was just touched by the lightsabre, and it really isn't cut-off. He is wrong... I've seen Luke's hand, still clutching onto the lightsabre, fell into the abyss.

And people start coming up with their theory's about why this isn't possible.

Have they seen a real lightsabre before? If not, why are these people posting about the impossibility of hands being sawed off by a sabre? The lightsabre is created by Lucas, I think, so, if he wants the lightsabre to be able to dismember bodies, then those people have no reason to argue over it.

Just my opinion.

also that person has probably not seen episode 2: when anakin is defeated by dooku in the hangar on geonosis you can clearle see anakin flying back with his right forearm missing, and then when he marries padme thew show you his robotic arm... same thing happens in esb after the scene on bespin, you can see a medical droid test luke's new robotic arm in the medical quarters of a mon calamari ship...

Glad someone agrees with me.

The robotic hand proves everything.

WHat the other people are saying is that it is not possible. As I've said, they haven't seen a lightsabre before, so, they shouldn't question it.

Now... back to halving stormtroopers. :D

Who cares about reality anyway I mean Star Wars is fictional, no-way does a lightsaber exist in real life, we do not have the technology to create a lightsaber. But who cares, I mean in the star wars stories they do exist and they can cut through almost anything they come into contact with.

Its boring people who haev to anaylise star wars to the extreme in which they have to boast about why Lightsabers couldnt exist.

I say shut ya traps and enjoy a fantasy.

And when they do invent real lightsabers they will be the first to be tested on.;)

well, anyone who has some knowledge of the star wars universe, or who actually paid attention while watching the movies would normally agree... and since i'm a fan, both of the above are true for me... may the force be with you...

For the records, that was not a Mon Calamari ship. The design dates back to the Old Republic. It was used as a front-line cruiser until the Mon Calamari entered the Rebellion, which gave the Rebellion considerably better ships and the class you see Luke in at the end of ESB all get converted to medical frigates. Can anyone give me the name of the class, though? I've forgotten in (assuming I ever had it remembered to begin with).

wow... :dropsjar: you're good... i had forgotten that... it won't happen again (this sounds like an announcement for a star wars knowledge quiz, lol !). but a quick look in the star wars visual dictionnary reveals that the ship is a 300 meter long nebulon b escort frigate... i think we should give that quiz a go... :D whaddya think ? may the force be with you...

Good? Not really. I remember a bunch of stuff, but I still lack the in-depth knowledge that many other people of these boards (and elsewhere) know. I've got a life, ya'know? :D
