I just re-watched Ep2 on DVD. Dooku doesn't glow because he seems to always hold his lightsaber away from him - sensible, perhaps he doesn't want to get burnt. In the scene when Anakin cuts that power conduit or whatever it is, and it goes dark, they do glow, definitely. In fact I think they glowed the other man's saber color when they engaged, as well as their own. Yoda, he always seems to hold his saber up parallel with his body. Not only that - Yoda is smaller than Dooku, so the saber is closer to his body than it appears, hence the fact he glows stronger. So they haven't made that many ****-ups. Some scenes outdoors no-one glowed, but it was broad daylight. Perhaps, like a torch, sabers don't seem to glow as much outside. I don't know. Anyway, the only times they don't glow, as far as I could see, was when the saber wasn't right up against them. They mustn't glow as much as we thought.

remeber when he first turned his saber on he held it up to his face first. ( i thought they coulda left that part out but oh well) try checkin there.
remember in jk1 it said that the lightsaber could be used as a light source and it worked.(i always used it) but that has nothing to do with the movies so thats a week argument
