Man I am confused. First of all, I'd like to say that I love this game and there have been alot of helpful people out there and fun gamers as well. I am wanting to host my own games. If that is through the Zone or any other site--whatever. I have downloaded tons of skins , mods, maps and the latest was the Vulcanus Admin Mod. I really have no idea how to set it up. I have plyed within it and can use commands, etc. but how would you set it to run on a server with mods running as well? If y'all can respond to me with pretty basic ansewers, due to the fact that I may really only be a newbie, I'd be much appreciative. If anyone wants a mod, I'd be more than happy to send it to them via e-mail. Thanks everyone.

okay, well first of all you want to get in the console (press shift & ~ in-game) & type " seta sv_master2 "master0.gamespy.com" ", this will put your server on the gamespy network (so people can find your server). There's allot of people who use that network & adding your server to the master gamespy list should definitely give you better odds of getting some clients on your server.

As for mods, thats the " fs_game " command. From a dos command line (or windows shortcut command line box) you would have to type " jk2mp.exe +set fs_game WhateverTheModFolderIsNamed ", from in game, just " fs_game WhateverTheModFolderIsNamed ". Or you could always go in the menus under setup, then go under mods.

As for the rest of it, you should make a server configuration file with your server preferences (theres tons of options). A server config file is just a txt file renamed cfg. To launch the file from in-game type " exec WhateverTheCfgFileIsNamed ", from the command line, you would type " jk2mp.exe +exec WhateverTheCfgFileIsNamed ", so all in all the command line would be like " jk2mp.exe +set fs_game WhateverTheModFolderIsNamed +exec WhateverTheCfgFileIsNamed ".

For disabling/enabling specific weapons/force powers checkout http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/jedi_outcast_console.txt.

For a JediPlus server configuration file, checkout the SW3 story in the signature, its after the SW3 script.

Hope this helps.

Well, I should have clarified. Yes, the command is FS_GAME, but, if you are in game chances are it won't work, some sort of protection thing (forgot what it's called). If you are on the star wars menus (not in a game) & then you try the command it may work (i don't think it will even then), but if that was the case, just go under Setup -> Mods, then choose your mod, that will load it fine from there.

I use windows shortcuts myself, but you do whatever works out best for you.

Hey, I tried this stuff and probobly because I am stupid and uninformed, I can't get this to work. I tried entering the commands in the ms-dos prompt under accessories and tried to enter the gamespy command in the console. I think the gamespy commd worked as someone tried to enter my game but either got disconnected or just left. So let me summerize: I can load the adminmod inthe setup and play that way, but can I load another mod like Jedi Plus 4.3 while in game with the admin mod loaded? Or do I have to load everything first before I even attempt to play and if so, is there a simple way to do this?

First of all, JediPlus has its own admin commands built into it. Secondly, no you can't load 2 mods at the same time. It's kinda like trying to put 2 tapes in a single deck VCR, not exactly, but sort of.

Anyways, whatever admin commands you want to use, I would think JediPlus can do them to (at least the really popular commands). I don't host any games usually, so I'm not that familiar with Vulcanus, but I do however know the coder for it. So if you choose to go with Vulcanus, let me know what you want to do. If you want to go with JediPlus, well, the coder for that one is kinda rude & we're not on the best of terms (go here for more info on that), so I can't get you the best of help with that one; But I can't imagine why you would need to. The JediPlus server config file I put together has commands that don't even come with JediPlus & the config file has complete descriptions for just about every JediPlus command. For the the JediPlus server config file I put together, click on the Star Wars episode 3 link under my signature, then after the story is the layout. Just copy all of that & put it in a .cfg file (a .cfg file is a .txt file renamed, just launch the config file. You should know how to launch the .cfg file from my last post.).

I guess the question you should really be asking is, how do I do this, that, or the other thing with JediPlus.

O ya, 1 last thing, FOR GOD SAKES MAN DO NOT ALLOW DOUBLE DUAL BLADED SABERS ON YOUR SERVER. I HATE IT when people do that :).

Wow, this is a bit more confusing than I thought. First of all, thanks so much for being such an enormous help. It's definitly cool of you to keep responding and help me get this going. If I could I'd buy you a round, but I think I did enough last night. I digress. Well, I think I have given up on the adminmod for now and I'll try to do Jedi Plus. From what you say, it does seem that it has everything I would need to host a cool game. Problem is how do I login or set myself as an admin. Whenever I type a command it says unknown cmmd or if I type aminfo, it says you are not an admin. I have been in games where the mod is running and I am able to type in all the commands and use a jetpack, two sabers etc. I would love to understand all of the other stuff you showed me int he last posts and I will keep trying, it's just over my head right now.:cya: Anyways, jediplus should do fine for running a game if I can learn to run it. I read the readme files and tried to make a cfg. file from what you posted, I am just clueless as to what now to do. any help would be much appreciated!!!!!

Well, I don't know about the admin commands, but I do know the emote commands are TOTALLY different between vulcanus & JediPlus. Did you look over the JediPlus server config file I put together? It has complete descriptions in there with each command. There are 3 different admin levels. I know you use rcon like " rcon rconpassword thenwhatevercommandyouwanthere ", but, if this isn't a remote server (meaning on a different computer), then you don't even need to use the admin commands in the first place. RCON stands for remote control, well if your on the same PC thats hosting the game, just put in whatever command you want, you don't even need rcon.

Hope this helps.

This is getting kind of funny. So I had a bit of clutter in the folders for Jedi Knight so I just erased and re-installed JKII. I searched for Jedi Plus 4.3(read your post abou the modder or creator-thats BS sounds like a freak) and saw that there is some sort of updated version of it called "Omnimod." Ever heard of it? I figured I would download the two programs and try to run whichever I like better. To respond to your last post, I did look at the cfg. file and renamed it on my computer. I am at work right now so I haven't had a chance to try to see if it runs right. Just to be sure though, I just go in the console during the game and type exec_jediplus server.cfg ? That's what I named the file. Does the file need to be in a specific folder? I did try the commands before I got re-installed JKII and they didn't work. I did a little further reading that suggested I try removing some mods that might be conflicting with Jedi Plus.

The .cfg file goes in your JediPlus/OmniMod folder. I don't play much OmniMod, JediPlus has some features that OmniMod doesn't & vice versa & OmniMod has bug fixes for certain things such as use of an emote while in saber lock (if you use an emote during a saber lock it breaks the lock). Most people play JediPlus, so that's what I usually play when I don't duel, but dueling is really my thing. As far as launching the file, you type " exec whateverthenameofthefileis.cfg " in-game, & " +exec whateverthenameofthefileis.cfg ". Actually in-game you don't even need to type .cfg & probably from the command line also. I usually launch from in-game.

If you had installed JediPlus & no other .pk3 files to that folder, there are no other mods that would conflict with JediPlus/OmniMod.
