Internet, my boy, Internet. LAN will put a server up only on your local network, if you have one. So if you wanted to play against friends and only your friends on a home network, or a school network, etc., you'd set it up on LAN. Now if you want to be available to the public and have poor saps like us joining your server, you'll have to set your server up for Internet. Make sense?

I should also mention that when you pick LAN or Internet and then actually create your server, the JK II window will turn into a smaller text box of sorts, which is what your server will actually be. While that window is running, your server will be available. For you to join it, you'll have to open JK II again and join your server which should now be on the server list (once you do a 'get new list' of course).
