The damages with special moves in Duelers 1.3 has been doubled. I think this is totally lame & I want to know if you guys feel the same way or if I should STFU & go bind a blue special or something. :-)

Not really. The yellow & red DFA, while very damaging if you pull it off, is probably the most difficult moves to pull off because they are pretty easy to evade & they leave you very vulnerable to a counterattack, usually with blue lunge.

As for lunge, it normally only does 30 damage, which is not really all that much. With 125 points (100 health, 25 shield) it would take 4 blue lunges to get you down to 5 health points. That's a lot of lunges to pull off & spamming lunge would more than likely leave you vulnerable for a red forward slash which just 1 of which, could be deadly.

With the way it is now, its only 2 lunges. Granted, you are given 200 points to work with on duel start, but still, it in part defeats the purpose of the 200 points on duel start. If that's the type of game play you are looking for, then it should be 125 points on duel start, hell, that should be an option anyways because that's how the base game is.

Not all people like change, so the option should be given to them to have things the way they like it. If you force people to do things differently, they may just lose interest in your project alltogether, regardless of other features it may provide (whether they are aware of those features too).

I think its lame...i can kill people (accidently) on one shot using Yellow special. Btw, yellow isnt as easy to counter because all you have to do is turn to the side with your saber facing your enemy, and the best part is that your opponent will most likely run in to it :)

they are already too powerful. just imagine if they whee doubled, and everyone just runs arround "bashing" with the blue dfa, it just supports lamers.

Well, it is all in timing & placing. If you place & time yourself just right, yellow DFA is simple to counter. I normally strafe, then move back, then lunge, but it totally depends on your position at the time, in this case, it would be directly beneath.

In any event, I play on DS servers, all of which are NF servers with linked stats between all servers & the availability of viewing stats in game. I do not need to see some video of that, that's like me saying "go watch this video of you brushing your teeth", it's something you see everyday, it may slightly vary in some ways but all in all, you've seen all there is to see.

I wouldn't say it is already to powerful with the base game, I think it's nicely balanced & ravensoft did a damn good job; But doubling is too much of an extreme. Giving people the availability of changing the damages is one thing, forcing them to go with different damages is not only ridiculous, it's somewhat unprofessional & with the coding job that Lee has done & the quality I have put into the project a variety of ways, I think people would just expect more from a project like Duelers, considering the caliber of it. If you look at our pre-releases & the type of job we do, realistically, there is no other game in town mod-wise, not server & client side anyways. Server-side only (like JA & Vulcanus) is in a league of it's own.

Hey, I think that they are cool. Some times you need that extra little "hmmph" to kill someone, or somthing that you just cant. somtimes you cant kill someone just cuz they are soo good, or just better then you. so adding extra "kill-power" is a good thing i say. It has help me out before, and it shall again.......
