i mean is it that a dark jedi used to be a jedi but turned to the darkside (if so is darth vader a darkjedi and not a sith lord) and that a sith has been trained from birth in the ways of the darkside of the force, or is there no difference and it's just that ppl call them dark jedi cause they want to?
Ok the sith are always dark jedi but dark jedi arent always sith

Here is the difference:
Dark Jedi are Dark Siders, sometimes failed Jedi, sometimes just bad from the start, who do not have any established order. For example, DJs often form gangs or work alone, not causing a whole lot of trouble. Sometimes, however, some Dark Jedi take over a large population, such as the ancient Sith empire back when the galaxy was first being explored in the EU (Expanded Universe, comics and books), or the Empire from the movies. The Empire is the best example. Vader, Palpatine, and a few apprentices ruled over a vast amount of people, none of whom were actually Force-sensitive. Basically, Dark Jedi refers to a small amount of Dark Side Force-sensitives, and Sith refers to an Empire of normal people ruled by Dark Jedi.
Compeare the dark jedi desann with darth vader who is a sith lord well just look at the difference between them desann is on the ground and flys in a lttle ship every where cloning people where as darth vader has a massive death star which is far smaller than yavin and has loads of shuttles and space stations they can attract anyone they please to the space stations by getting there freinds held captive so as you see darth vader is the sith and desann is a dark jedi but i don't really care all dark side uses are pure evil and i call them the sith!
The Sith are followers of a cult of evil Force-users originally founded by stray Jedi. The term "Dark Jedi" refers to any person who uses the Dark Side of the Force. So all Sith are Dark Jedi, but not all Dark Jedi are Sith.
Well... everything seems to be explained. I remember asking this question some time ago.
In case you want to know... I believe the term Dark Jedi is an EU creation, because they were never mentioned in the canon sources. In the movies, the only Dark Siders are Sith. But you can say Anakin became a Dark Jedi. He became a Sith only after Sidious/Palpatine accepted him as a apprentice, but the word D.jedi was never mentioned.
Oh, I believe Desann's a Sith. He has an apprentice, and was called Master by Tavion. The number is 2. 1 Master, 1 Apprentice. This is too nicely made by Raven to be something else. The Reborns and Shadowtroopers are Dark Jedi.

From what I can remember, the Sith is an orginization, where Dark Jedi are characters from the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.
Sweet macedamia nuts I'm funny.:moon:
Well he did have an army behind him. Besides, the line is a little sketchy; as has been said, the term Dark Jedi was created by the EU.
Sith are usally stronger in the force then dark jedis and smarter. Desann is way too stupid to be a sith. He had the power of the valley and all he did was make reborn. The sith are an ancient people, they were conquered by powerful darkside magic. In their 100,000-year history they have come close several times to vanquishing the light-side jedi. They have remained a part of the galaxy, some-times waxing, some-times waning, and have maintained an unbroken line of chief practitioners know as the Dark Lords of the sith. So I guess you can say they are powerful enough to almost completely destroy the jedi order unlike Desann who was defeated so quickly.
