As we see in ANH, Lord Vader personality shot down those ships attacking the Death Star. Now, in ESB, why didn't Lord Vader personally went and capture the Millennium Falcon? Instead, he left it to those imcompetent stormpilots to capture them. Surely a little asteroid field is nothing to someone who is an ace pilot. If han Solo can do it, so can Vader. Better, even.
This left me puzzled for some time. Perhaps it is because it was dangerous, and vader didn't want to risk it. But it seem no less dangerous than personally a group of rebels, don't you think? Maybe asteroids are more unpredictable, but han Solo could do it.
maybe he's only good in destroying, not in hunting? dunno... ASK LUCAS!;)
I have no clue why Lucas did it that way, i'm sorry. maybe darth vader was busy with other things, perhaps he got a call from sidious?? or from his mom *lol* jk!
But i have another question:
in Ep1, the final battle between Obi-Wan, Qui-gon and Darth Maul. Maul kicks down Obi-wan, so he can seperate the two jedi. Maul leads Qui-gon to that barrier thing (don't know the english name for it) Obi-Wan jumps back on the level were the two are fighting and runs to catch up with them. Why doesn't he use his speed ability to catch up with them faster?? We know he can do that because Qui-gon and Obi-wan escaped from the droids at the trade federation ship. Why the hell doesn't he run freakin faster?? Is his ability to use the force clouded due to the presents of the dark side?? I don't think i explained this good but i hope u guys can understand it ;)
Vader did have other bisuness. If I remember correctly he wished to capture Luke Skywalker wich he probably knew wasn't on the Falcon. If he wnated to complete this objective he had to go towards the base personally. To the other question I think it was one of two things, he ethier was was lost in a state of mind watching Maul get the better of him or the doors were to unpredictible to risk it.
Because he was meeting with the bounty hunters, remember? As for obiwan, those things kill you I'm sure, so he had to be careful.
You guys are silly. First off, Lucas doesn't ever know what he's doing, and in ESB, he neither wrote nor directed it. We give him too much credit for a big phony. And as for the Obi-Wan thing, "Force Speed" is sort of like the "Force Healing" and "Force Absorb" or whatever--it's not really in the movies or the books, it's just a stretch from the video games. You're asking consistancy for a universe that can't make up its mind who trained Anikan Skywalker. *L*
Yes i know they are dangerous but right when Obi-Wan jumped on the level, Qui-gon and Maul were already at the barriers. That part he could have run faster to get to the barriers! Also if he had run faster he could have passed them all in one try. ( They ran REALLY fast at the Federation ship) But i guess he wasn't confident enough.
ah but u seem to forget in the very beginning when qui is tring to cut the door so they can get in the destroyers come. as soon as theyve had enough they move quite quikly and it looks like a blur so i think thats force speed. and as u see in the movies they dont use forces very often i really dunno y i think it would make them seem to much like gos er something. maybe after awhile the force nullifies ur connection after like 20000 uses er something
Thats exactly what i meant! The use force speed at the beginning! Why doesn't Obi-Wan use it to get to the barriers?? Not necessarily through them but just to get there from the point he lands!
maybe after awhile the force nullifies ur connection after like 20000 uses er something
*lol* i don't think the force ever 'wears' out or has limitations like that.
Another part where the could have used force speed:
In ep2 at the arena: A smart jedi would have lighted his lighsaber, use force speed and just slice through the nice lined up droids! *hehe* that would be ownage!!!
oh yea. but i think jedi would consider that cheating. hehe. well i dunno ask the fricken stupid jedi
