Why did he need the Millennium Falcon in the first place? He shouldn't have called these bounty hunters in the first place. Maybe the directors think that having Vader do it himself will not be that good an effect if it is overused.
As for Obi-Wan using Force Speed, someone came up with the theory that he was busy with thoughts to kill maul, possibly the Dark Side is creeping into his mind, and is making him unable to concentrate. Nervous, he is. Look at the way he twirled that lightsabre.
yes, he was still an unexperienced padawan. he can't use force speed whenever he wants. @ fallenbythewayside: don't call us silly, dude. you are silly if you didn't notice that they CAN use force speed in the movies, too. (the droideka scene, mentioned above). so don't call neone silly on this forum.
Yeah good idea, but what decides when he can use force speed?? Is it random?? One possibility would be that he has to be near a jedi knight ( like he was near Qui-gon at the federation ship) Would that make a difference?? :uhm: That still doesn't explain why the jedi didn't use force speed in the arena in ep2. I guess they had to be careful, not to run over other jedi ;)
Sag mal obi-wan woher kannsten du so ein gutes english??? Also was ich in deutschland gelernt habe reicht nicht aus um so ein gutes english zu schreiben wie du!
take care! :cya:
I don't know but maybe a jedi can only use force speed when he is in grave danger. As a way of a last DEFENCE to escape so that would mean that Obi-Wan couldn't charge Maul with force speed. I think I heard something like that somewhere but I really am not sure. This would explain both of the two jedi things ep1 and ep2.
Well i think Qui-gon was in great danger!! Obi-wan wasn't but his mentor was and i think thats reason enough to freakin RUN! Why would they be limited like that, thats stupid...certain forces just 'enable' in certain situaions or what?? Kyle in jk2 can use force speed whenever he wants to!
True, True. But if Obi-Wan used speed and saved Qui-gon from death the movies would have to take a different path and the movie wouldn't have been as good in that part to me but if it was real then there would have been some reason but it will probably never be fiqured out.
Exactly. I'm sure Lucas was just making it possible for Obi-Wan to have that duel we love so much with Maul. Otherwise, no movie. We might as well expect them to use Force Speed everytime they attack (attack droids, I mean.). But usually, they have people to save...
Erm, what if Obi-Wan DID use Force Speed? But his Force Speed is not as fast as Qui-Gon's? Just like JK2's Level 1, 2, 3. Maybe he got to be as fast as Qui-Gon because Qui-Gon pulled him? Or it might be that Qui-Gon slowed himself down to allow his Padawan to catch up.
There are many possibilities, and, like 'thecorman' said, we would probably not figure out which is true.
Yeah you're prolly right. LoL funny thought that Qui-gon pulled him...But i just look at the scence again and they are running beside of each other. Also i don't think you can pull somebody like that. Try to attach yourselve to car and let it pull you, it doesn't work you have your limits and you can't exceed them. I don't think his speed ability is weaker as qui-gon's! And ok maybe Qui-gon slowed down, but they were still very very fast!!! Ad if Obi-wan would had run like that in the battle he could have easily catch up man! Yes i am aware of that it would have changed the whole path. Its just wondering why they don't use it, when they can!!
well, there are really tons of possibilities. i think the padawan obi was not able to concentrate enough to use it when seeing his mentor fighing a double-bladed, red/black-tatooed zabrak sith.
@Erdbeerjoghurt: Ich werde dir über PM antworten.
yep he prolly got freaked out, he was just a padawan so maybe he couldn't control himself as good as other jedi can. that would be a good explanation. or maybe he just forgot about his ability to run faster cuz he was too busy thinking about how to fight maul or some other stuff?!
