^ I dunno, maybe aesthetics must have been a factor. Everyone has different tastes in ships right?

Indeed ;) No...the Excelsior isn't (imo) as good designed as the Sovy, but it's a good design...compared to really ugly ships like the strange Cruiser from ENT or maybe the ENT J.
