I am unfortunatly a newb at editing BIG files, I downloaded the BIG Final Editor, and now I need to know how to change the properties of the files, like change costs or build times of units. A simple walk through or link would help a lot. Thanks.

Here's a simple breakdown:

1. Use FinalBIG to open a BIG file. (they're in your CCG main directory [C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\Data\INI]) INI.big is what you want to edit weapons, armor, costs, etc.

2. Select one (or more)of the ini files and select extract from the edit pull-down menu.

3. Then edit the values in the ini file. There are descriptions in the inis.

4. Put your edited inis in your C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\Data\INI\ (you have to make the INI folder)

5. Start Generals!!

Note: edited inis that are in the object subdirectory of the INI.BIG file (will say data/ini/object/factionunit.ini, instead of data/ini/armor.ini for example) need to go inC:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\Data\INI\Object.

Thank you so much, this helped a lot! Last question, to turn the file back into an ini file do you just put it back into the list?

No just leave the edited inis in the INI folder and play.

Forget the last post. I am completely lost. I can extract and edit the ini file, once it has been extracted and edited, exactly how do you get the edited ini file to fitted in with the existing big file?
