for the doors, build the factory with the shape you want and then when you know where you want the doors to be -go into edge mode, turn on DIVIDE -and stat clicking on edges to to divide them, you'll see a new vertices created there - keep dividing edges until you kinda create the perimeter of the door. - then go into vertex mode and line them up straight, so that for example you have a square outline of edges inside the perimeter of a wall. -then go to faces mode, select the faces that make up the door surface -then (important) click DETACH, option window pops up, select ELEMENT then ok -then skin the entire model as one object even little props must be apart of the one ogject. -apply the texture to you model -go into ELEMENTS mode and select the door element(just click on face in the door and all will select -click DETACH again and this time select OBJECT to make it a seperate object -this new door object should share the skin of the factory model, now animate the door. -when exporting select Hierarchy Animated model and select the exact # of frames you used to create the animation

(incase you don't know how) Select your door. Click 'animate' at the bottom of the screen. Move the slider to the end, move your door to it's open opsition. Click 'animate' again to turn it off (it's red when active). -just to the right of the animate button there are some movie controls, use them to view the animation- You can do more complex animations with moving parts, just adjust the track bar positions.

hey panda man, PM service is down so I had to try to contact you here. That turret is awesome! Could you finish skinning it and send it to me? Oh, and i'll try to send the specs for the SSM launcher soon.

Heh, yeah I noticed. E-mail spammed you a load of missiles too (I could have phrased that differently:uhm: ). Anywho, just messing with some mech animations then i'll get on with the turret.

hey dude, looks like try 401 will have to be the charm. The models came as .dxf files, was that supposed to happen? I don't know how to view them that way

well, PMs are still down, and I hate my e-mail outbox, so i'll post it here at my own risk. maiofamily@comcast.net when you send it can you at least send code for the door animations, I tried pandas turret model and I couldn't get the turret to turn, I'd like to avoid these things in the future.
