use the gmax tutorials i did the first 3 they helped alot, also your first models will suk!!! my first was a house made of a rectangle and a cone..... my new ones arnt great but they gettin there....
just keep practising nad trying diffrent things, espeically experiment with editable meshes they help alot! dont worry if your models suk there only 1 way to get better
u'll get over it :)
seriously keep practising dude, everyone started with useless models like those... yup.. EVEN i did:p
Why did you even bother posting those?
guys calm down. The guy is experimenting and trying out a modeling program and ya don't need to act like such asses
Agreed. Positive criticism and comments or none at all is the way I prefer things. Comments like "that sucks" and "why you even bother..." are a waste of breath, brain power and internet space. All morons please refrain from speaking unless spoken to.
Yes, sir.. wait no... were you speaking to me - master?
Depends. Do you consider yourself a moron? Here's how you can tell. Do you know how to make constructive comments without throwing in personal attacks? If you can your most likely not one. Another question. Do you ever feel a need to put others down in order to build up your own self-esteem? This is a sure sign of being a moron. If you answer these questions and find you are a moron, please see a therapist immediately.
Ok, now with the sarcasm aside. Dude, I just dislike it when people put others down for no more reason then the fact that they can. This is called flaming and is usually not tolerated in most forums. Please dont flame.
Well said Etherealsilk.
As for the models as you said youre still learning I had my first ever attempt at a model yesterday and I think the word LOL describes it. I even tried adding bones so it would animate and all it made in game was nothing it started building something then nothing appeared and that took me hours.
So anyway good job on trying I suggest the Tutorials in gmax as well helped me learn the basics all the other advice I can give u is take your time if something dosnt look right delete that part and try again till it is right, also start off with something simple like a turret or something like that to get an idea for how everything works then see if you can add it in game, this is what I did and omg it aint easy lol
Anyways good Job for trying which is more than some of the idiots that resort to personal abuse have done.
Good Luck on future models,
here's my ballista for the LOTR mod, i dunno if it helps tho
(hint: right mouse on ur model => convert => convert to editable mesh (this way u can change ur model per vertex or something else))
here it is (no laughing)
