I Assume that you've downloaded the model from somewhere. The Problem is you can't just rename models in generals, this screws up all hiaracy in the model, to change it get the orignal model, (F16.w3d, or whatever it is) Then put that in art/w3d then go to Factionunit.ini and change Model = AVRaptor to Model = f16(or whatever it is).

If its a home made model make just you exported it as a hiaracial model, with the name correct and the model has to be one group called "CHASSIS"

it is my own model, and im still using the file names of he Raptor models. I have the W3D files in the Art\W3D folder and the .dds and a .tga files in the Art\Textures folder. im just tryin to test this model to see how the textur maps look. but that what doesnt show up, the texture. Do you know if there are suppose to be a specific no. of Mip maps for the texture file, or a specific resolution. this should not require any INI editing if all im changing is the model and not creating a new unit.

I think your Model has to much Polygons, if so, the Model won't show up in Game, i got this Problem several Times with an old Tankmodel i made

535 polys all together, 447 that should visible in the game, but the poly count should not matter, you could import a model with 1 million polys if you build it right and the game should display it, but of course this will either slow the gaem tremendously or crash the game. so polygons is not the problem cause the game runs fine, and hte model F16 functions correctly just isn being displayes. I was also wondering, there is a plugin for Photoshop for oenning and saving .DDS files, is there a plugin for G-max or 3DS Max. I find it quite strange the the game uses a Picture format that no 3D editor can read. How are you supposed to let the game know that a certain .DDS file is to be used as the texture map.

think of it this way, I have been a modeler for several years now, and have read every tutorial for making models for generals and zero hour, i would not make that mistake nor can that mistake really be made easily. But yes all the geometry has been exported.

Well i figured it out. two problems I wasnt cleaning up from my last editing test, and it turns out htat the Chassis is not the right name for the model. It needs to be MESH01. I guess I'll be posting tis new model soon. thx for the help anyways.

I would appreciate your opinion on the model looks.
