hey guys, i searched the forums high and low for this, but anyway, im just trying to get my feet wet in modding for generals.
what ive done so far is extracted the ini files out of INI.big, and edited the following files as i wanted...
CommandSet.ini and FactionUnit.ini
with the proper editors, now when i tried it out in game it works, but that was overwriteing the default files, now what i am trying to do is add those 2 files as
Data\INI\Object\FactionUnit.ini and Data\INI\CommandSet.ini
in a file called shmick.big.... i did that, but when i place the file in: My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data
and run the shortcut as: "..\generals.exe" -mod shmick.big
the game loads but the changes i made dont show up... what am i doing wrong...
ah ha ha ha ah ha ha rolf
maybe your problem is u did not put them in the
i did not speel right but that is it
no cuz when you dl a mod... and install it, all you do is add the BIG file to the
My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data
folder and add -mod yourmod.big to the end of your shortcut
so what am i doing wrong... and like i said, the actual file work, because if i just overwrite the game files, it works... i just cant put the 2 files as a separate mod!
=( help me out!!!!!
what mod are using ?\
any way try it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
iu know were the ****ing files go
do not call me dumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when making a mod, i thought all you have to do is make a .BIG with all of the mod'd files in it, put it in the documents\generals data folder and add -mod yourmod.big to your shortcut....
what other steps are ther????
are you telling me to put my shmick.BIG in programfiles\generals?
come on guys, over 40 views and no one knows or has experienced this problem, or at least heard of it? :spank:

well thers another way to do it make the ini files and dont put them in a big but put them in your C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals\Data\INI
but then it isnt as easy to play with out it in BIG format, because all you have to do with BIG's is add -mod shmick.big to a shortcut...
