Im new to c&c modding and am wondering what is the avrage polygon count for a basic tank?
If anyone know of any c&c modding tuturials please let me know!
anywhere between 200 and 500 it ok to go a lil above but be careful if you get to high or it will run slow
you wouldent happen to have any tips on reducing polys in gmax would you?
lol look at my first posts on this forum and you will see me asking the EXACT same question, but after experience i have an answer for you!
firstly always keep in mind when starting a model how many shapes it will be, use editable meshes whenever you can to save polys and always put as little as possible detail into it. once this is done use the optimize button which is under the scroll dowwn list in the modify menu, and put it as high as possible without messin up ur shape to bad.
lastly make any shape that is partly hidden an editable mesh and then click vertices and delete any sides or vertices that are completly hidden or covered by another shape.
just practise it takes time before you get the hang of making models low poly and figuring out how many shapes you'll need before starting the model
o and i forgot the most important thing!
the standard shapes have like 18 sides and like 5 height segs, chng that right away, make it as small as possible, dont worry if ur tire is a pentagon it will look fine in game
