Hihi, I'm new here...

I Tried making a tomahawk missile travel much much further than it is in the game (Thats real life anyway, tomahawks are supposed to travel more than 2-300 miles, rather than 1-2) But there was an annoying problem. The Tomahawk missile ran out of fuel and crash landed (should I say exploded) as it travelled through the air. How do you increase the thrust or the fuel of the tomahawk missile? I checked weapons.ini and FactionUnit.ini but there was nothing inside bout it. Can someone enlighten me?

Oh Yeah i also want to know how to get carpet bombing. The instructions in the forums are jargon to me And I just can't understand it. Can someone just send me the ini files with the carpet bombing enabled?

About the tomahawk problem, I've never really heard of that before. Sounds kinda interesting though lol. You might want to check the locomotor of the tomahawk and the projectile's section of the factionunits.ini Those are the two places I would think that something like this could be fixed but I'm not positive.

Look in Locomotor.ini and find this ...

Locomotor TomahawkLocomotor Surfaces = GROUND Speed = 30 ; in dist/sec SpeedDamaged = 25 ; in dist/sec TurnRate = 180 ;90 ; in degrees/sec TurnRateDamaged = 180 ;60 ; in degrees/sec Acceleration = 1000 ;240 ; in dist/(sec^2) AccelerationDamaged = 1000 ;120 ; in dist/(sec^2) Braking = 1000 ;50 ; in dist/(sec^2) MinTurnSpeed = 0 ; in dist/sec ZAxisBehavior = NO_Z_MOTIVE_FORCE Appearance = TREADS

etc etc

Now I havent tried it but try altering the values for ...

SpeedDamaged TurnRateDamaged AccelerationDamaged

Make them lower or even zero =)

Im at work so I cant try it at the moment =(

What exactly happens (does it explode whilst u can still see it or does it go into the shroud first does it just drop out of the sky and miss the target and explod or drop out of sky and not explode etc etc?) and what have u changed so far.

Im assuming you have changed the AttackRange of the TomahawkMissileWeapon in weapon.ini to a larger value?

The thing runs out of fuel halfway and most of the time just disappears into the ground without exploding at all. Yes i changed the value to about 2000 =P

However I also had some "breakthroughs"..I changed the values in locomotor.ini and managed to get the missile to the desired target. But it was going too freakin fast (faster than the aurora at full speed). On my second try it was still too fast and missed by about half a screenie

OK found your problem go to factionunit.ini

Find ...

Object TomahawkMissile

scroll down and you will see ...

Behavior = MissileAIUpdate ModuleTag_07 TryToFollowTarget = Yes FuelLifetime = 4000 IgnitionDelay = 0 IgnitionFX = FX_TomahawkIgnition InitialVelocity = 50 ; in dist/sec DistanceToTravelBeforeTurning = 80 etc etc

thats right u guessed it change FuelLifetime = 4000 to a larger number.

Glad to help =)
