this may be very basic, but I have no idea how to do it; how can I change the name that appears when I hold the cursor over a unit - basically I want to change the name of crusader to Abrahms and do stuff like that to make more units in the game named as ones that actually exist. Also, how do I change the name in the panel that appears when I hold the cursor over the unit in the production area of eg. the war factory??

Cheers for any help.

you need a csf editor to sort that out. u need to open the generals.csf file. its under ...EA games\command...\data\english\generals.csf.

usefull tip for EVERYONE really... but if you cannot find your Generals/Art, Generals/data/INI folders, then you need a BIG editor...

I currently use XCC Mixer, if there is a better one please let me know, I can modify the generals.csf in this also (and it's more structured than my csf editor)

all of the files that you will want to mod are in INI.big or Textures.big in your main Generals folder.

if you ever screw up your copy by modding, delete your INI and start again.

I now have a folder that contains all of the default files, which can be extracted from the 2 big files above, and just copied into the relevant place and modded when needed.

generals.csf is in the INI.big btw.

hope this helps
