I figured I'd make a thread specifically for discussing companions, our favorites and the like, since IMO they're one of the most important aspects of the game, both in story and in combat.

I'll start by saying my favorite companion at the moment is Mako by far. As a female Bounty Hunter it really feels like she's your best friend. It gets to the point that she's with you not because your goals are similar, but really because you're all she has, and vice versa.

Mako's my favorite. Except my character's a guy, so... :naughty:

I really like Torian too, though. He's a cool guy. Gault I might throw off a cliff. Mako seems to agree with me on that...

And...

I currently have 4 companions as Sith Inquisitor, these being: Ashara (former Jedi Padawan), 2V-R8, Andronikos Revel, and Khem Val.

Thus far, I absolutely love Khem Val, the Dreshade (Tulak Hord's right-hand Assassin). The other companions, IMO, are just plain annoying like 2V-R8. They just can't shut up.

Also, at a certain point, something will happen between Khem Val and my former master, Darth Zash, which makes it a very... intriguing character to say at the very least. :)

I thought about trying to romance Mako on my male BH, but she just seems to kiddy... I'd feel like a pedophile.

And yes... Blizz is just plain awesome. I JUST got him, (level 38) so I can't say I've talked to him a whole bunch, but he's shaping up to be completely awesome so far.

My favorite thus far is Kira... she's fully embraced being my Padawan and we love making fun of sith together.

Also since Morto is a guy... :naughty:

Mako sucks (imo) because she's always whining and complaining and dropping affection points when I play a 'darker' Bounty Hunter. Maybe down the road I'll be able to shoot her and be done with her. For now she can remain in the kitchen (aka: out doing crafting missions) =p My BH alt is only level 17 though so no big deal for now.

Without getting into spoilers because I know too much already, there's a really bad ass Imperial Agent companion at the later levels named SCORPIO. I'm looking forward to getting her, she seems pretty bad ass.

I just got Vector on my IA and he's definitely a cool companion, background and lore wise, but he's another one that disagrees with my play style. In fact, one side quest I lost over 600 affection points with him.

Kaliyo Djannis is pretty cool. She keeps up with my dark and murderous ways and doesn't complain too much. She'll even joke saying things like "wow, that's a bit harsh, no?", but without the affection point loss.

Kaliyo is a complicated compaion which I enjoy. Ex: I'll try to flirt with her and she'll flat out reject me, and not in a polite way either. She'll flat out say "will you stop that, jeez, forget I even bothered to talk to you". However she does apparently have a romance option so I don't know, she's complicated, so if I decide to go that route I'll just up her affection with gifts, etc.

Quite a difference between the Republic and Empire in relation to when you get your companions. I just got Vector on my Imperial Agent at level 30, on Alderaan. When I leveled a Trooper, at level 28 I had three companions!

Its not just different for Republic vs. Empire... its different for every class.

For instance, the Jedi Knight will have T7, Kira, and slave-droid C2 all before they leave Coruscant, and won't get another companion for a few planets... the Trooper gets only Jorgan from Ord Mantell, and no one from Coruscant, but on both planets after it get a new companion. My Squisitor has Khem Val from Korriban, and got no one from Dromund Kaas OR Balmorra, and I know I'm not getting one from Nar Shaddaa either.

When you get each companion is all dependent on class.

And speaking of romances, the number of romance options per class per gender is also varied. For instance, female Consulars get THREE romance options, and males only one. I know Knights get only one per gender (and I'm fine with that, Kira is a perfect Padawan IMO :hump:) and I know the number of options per other classes per gender is also different. Just gotta discover these things... they're obviously attempting to gear you to want to play multiple playthroughs, even with the same class.

I use Malavai Quinn the most, because I like his heals (although that green glowing glitch is REALLY ANNOYING), and I want to get his affection points up as much as possible. ^.^

All the healing companions have that problem. I know I've gotten it several times with Mako, and Anson had a problem with it when he was using Elara.

Yeah it's more annoying than the "person doesn't exist" bug when trying to add someone who is currently offline. Hope they come out with a patch soon!
