Hello Everybody,

after playing RtCW for quite some time and meeting a lot of ppl, I have played with and against a pretty lot of clan-members of some clans, which I enjoyed a lot (Hey to: NOOS, XOZ, GER, FO, CAC, FMJ amd whom I just forgot).

I ve never trained (I mean real training), but practiced a lot of maps, weapons, moving and shooting techniques, and I think I know what s possible on wolf and what s not without messing in your configs or scripts.

Today I met something strange: I played a lot tram and the_river, and went along quite well, killing a good deal of enemies :naughty: Then a clan entered the server, and for about 2 hours I could only kill a very few of them. I never won a close combat. At distance I needed at least 4 times the ammo to kill one as I usually need against the average enemy (which is 4-6, not more than 15 when they do the normal run and jump, at quite some distance). It was like they were able to take more hits than normal players, and it wasn't just me who noticed that.

Strange, isnt it?

Ah, technical details: For the ping: mine s around 90, theirs was from 70 to 100. The server s a non-pure server (4Netplayers, usually featuring the_river).

So what do you think about it? Is there anyone who experienced the same interesting phenomena? Anybody around who might now how u d be able do get a cheat working like that and what u can do against it?

C ya

i have noticed the same thing on servers. even pure servers. i have emptyed entire clips into some players and they just keep going. i also dont know what to about it. i find it strange that i can shoot one person a couple of times in the head and they drop, i do the same thing against other players and they dont drop. no matter how good some is that shouldnt change how many bullets it takes to kill them, if you hit them in the same spot.

They are probably cheating, or, that was me your talking about

It was probably lag... you say your ping was 90, and there's was around 100...well, maybe another player's was like 576 or something. But, I'm an expert... just not THAT much of 1, lol

Lag is the most likely answer. I wouldn't rule some type of cheat out though. But I have pumped a couple clips into people while chasing them and they don't die. And I'm not that bad of a shot, I try for headshots most times. But if you, or they, are lagging even slightly, that could make you miss a lot. Even if you have a low ping the server itself may be laggy. I have been on servers where this has happened. I'd be shooting at someone and the next second they are 10 feet from where I was shooting at them:confused: . It is very frustrating I will admit. :(

Like gjsnake said, a lot of it can be caused by lag, remember there's a great difference between ping and lag.

ping = time in milisec's it takes a package to be delivered

lag = packageloss

so afaik a high ping only means you get your info xx milisec's after its been send from the server, (ping 100 = 0.1 sec) with high ping (200/300) your still able to perform well

Lag means your losing data, so the info you get/ send is incomplete or damaged. Lets you think your machine only gets 0.2 fps. :p Altough most programms try to regenerate the data, with high lag they aren't always able to.

But I'm shure there are some guys using some kind of Aimbot or something making Aim easier

:uhm:

An interesting thread, My adivice first of all would be, to play on only pure servers to start with. If these guys were cheating you will nerver know, so it's best to focus on advice rather than conjecture. The best advice is always---

Use that tiny dot as a target sight as small as you can make it. ( if you can get good at putting such a small maker on a target it's a sure kill.) This is the target sight that I use and trust me the Action Hero puts em in the grave:)

Always crouch when firing this drasticly reduces the bullet spread.

Always fire in small controlled bursts, anything longer that a second or two and your shots are going wild.

Head shots head shots, always aim a little higher in close quaters. head shots is were the money is.

get good at those things and you will be a Wolf killer:)Clan or no clan.
